  • Book as many nights as you like at this price
Why We Love It
  • This characterful country inn is 15 minutes' drive from the Cotswolds
  • You can sit by the cosy fireplace in the oak-beamed bar and sample the real ales on tap
  • Blenheim Palace is 20 minutes' drive away and Oxford takes 40 minutes by car
The Deddington Arms is a "charming and friendly" (The AA Hotel Guide 2017) 16th-century country inn set off a market square in the quaint village of Deddington, 15 minutes' drive from the Cotswolds.
Deddington has a monthly farmer's market and is home to the ruins of the Norman Deddington Castle, which is five minutes' walk from the hotel. Banbury, a lively market town associated with the nursery rhyme "Ride a Cock Horse", and Broughton Castle -- a moated, fortified manor with ornamental gardens -- are both less than 15 minutes' drive away. You can also explore Blenheim Palace or Chipping Norton, a quiet Cotswolds market town with "handsome" Georgian buildings (Lonely Planet), or make the most of designer clothing discounts at Bicester Village's outlet stores -- all within 20 minutes' drive. Silverstone Circuit is 30 minutes' drive away, whereas Warwick Castle and Oxford city centre both take 40 minutes by car.
The Deddington Arms boasts a "delightful" restaurant with "a well-deserved reputation" (The AA Hotel Guide 2017) and there is a traditional oak-beamed bar with slate floors. Some bedrooms overlook the market square.

I stayed there once, many years ago; a nice quiet getway; or in my case a refuge from the awful brain training and mindfullness course my boss had sent me on at a nearby manor house.

That room looks a lot bigger than I remember though, either trick photography, or that is the biggest room they have.
