I got virtually the same one last year from Tesco for £17.99 but without the extender ring which I subsequently bought separately. Well worth every penny, I use it every week.
Ordered for my mum. Thanks op!

Beats cleaning the main oven.
These are great but a real hassle when the halogen light goes, soldering can be a pain if your not skilled
Note that the Halogen bulbs are not replaceable on this model

Mine went in the bin after 18 months but great kitchen gadget you'll actually use (bulbs last 18-24 months)

Replaced with an Andrew James one that comes with a spare bulb.

Haven't used my gas oven more than a few times in 2 years! My halogen is used daily
As a recent halogen convert I can recommend them, get one with the chance to replace the bulbs though. I love the healthy chips I can now cook.

Not replaceable on this model
Last few chances to buy from Maplin before the administrator calls it a day. 70% off components in the store I visited today, 50% off the leads and they were still very expensive exp

To someone uninitiated... I just put what I would normally oven cook in here but it cooks faster and uses less leccy because it's smaller?

Yes, but also the heat is relatively instant doing away with waiting time an ordinary oven would take.. They are fan driven as well which usually means less heat used as the fan drives the heat around.. I haven't used an oven more than a few times in the last couple of years with these bad boys! Highly recommended
If the bulb is not replaceable then this one could be a bad idea even though the price IS great. A spare bulb can cost £10 to £12 which is not to be ignored either.
Thanks took a chance on i t. I moved to a new place with a really rubbish gas oven ( always cooked with electric and this was a big change anyway!) takes ages to ignite and been going out grr!!
Heard good things about these... only thing I'm wondering is .. if it cooks faster how do you know how much to adjust cooking time by....say I'm putting in breaded haddock.. normally 220* C for 25 mins... what would the adjustment be ? Is there a set guide to that ? Thanks!

Surely it has temperature selection... so it'll still be 25mins at 220C!
Perhaps quicker to heat up but cooking time would be the same?

I dunno thats why im asking if anyone knows that has it... it says it " cooks quicker" with the fan ... so do you do the timing as though its a fan assisted oven? lol

This halogen oven is capable of cooking your food more quickly than a normal oven as it utilises a powerful 1300W heating element and a hot airflow system that circulates via the integrated fan

Simple bud! I've used the halogen oven for year's!
Everything is half ie 200f is 100 on the dial !
For the same time !
But it's easier to say 200 put to 150/160 and cook it say a meal takes 60 mins!
It takes 45 mins on 150/160 heat if that makes sense
In fact scratch that lol
Thinking about it!
Let's say your cooking oven chips that take 20 mins !
In the halogen oven you would need full blast 220 for 5mins then turn over for 5mins to cook !
Also get a casserole dish with a medium chicken ! Breast faceing down!
It would only take an hour!
Then turn for a further 20 mins on the breast size!, cover in kitchen foil whilst cooking your wedges
these look like the elgento ones which were available for 17 quid on Amazon
i bought two of these and they're still going strong!!

I have a self cleaning oven
This is what happens when real men forget how to make a fire 💪
i bought a halogen oven after a friend of mine persuaded me and have hardly used my main oven since(only for pizzas)no more pre heating and it cooks quicker too,you can see inside easily to see how things are cooking,my teenage son loves it,wouldn't be without one now

200c to start for a few minutes then turn and down to 170c to stop splattering. I just cook it on the solid baking dish on the high rack.
thnx, i have an old one that the non stick coating is starting to come off this this will be great as a replacment.
I have the tower airwave halogen oven & it's actually way way better than I expected.

Fried chicken in it is great. Chips, sliced chunky 'chipshop' sized, throw in for 5 minutes on 200, take out & throw in a sandwich bag with 1 teaspoon of olive oil per large potato used. Back in for 10 minutes, shake around back in for another 10 minutes.

Come out tasting almost exactly like deep fried. Not quite, but exceptionally close.

We have 5 in our family & it's often difficult to fit everything in to the oven, so having so much additional space is great.

Being able to cook a chicken or meat in this so you can use the oven for everything else is really really handy.

Got it at Xmas & used it at least once a week since, usually a few times a week.

Thanks,I will try that
Am I correct in thinking pizzas are better cooked in a conventional oven?
Its also available on their Ebay store.

That's what put me off, until I found my friend had one,I wasn't aware that they have heat markings just like a conventional oven and a timer that switches it off when you have reached the desired time set, someone once said that you set it to the timings and temps for a fan oven, but within a couple of weeks you can work out what suits you best
Just bought an Andrew James one with the lid on an attached arm for 43.99 on eBay. Couldn't recommend it more! Fab piece of kit. Came with a spare bulb too.
Just got one wouldn't have known about this if it wasn't for this post. Thank you voted hot
Already got one the same which I've had for 6 years. Never had a problem with it but sometimes I could do with a second one and so much easuer to clean then the oven.

Yes as the heat penetrates through the base where in one of these it doesn't.
such great advise on this post so i thank everyone for posting
Tempted
Do these use a lot of electricity?

Not much just about half of a conventional oven, so a good saving on the electricity bills

How's the cooking compared to say, a electric fan oven?

Does it cook as well? Are these energy efficient? Also unsure if it would be suitable for a family?

Thanks
