I just picked up the latest flyer from Aldi: full of great gardening stuff including this electric lawnmower. On line it says it's available to order from 25 March but I'm not sure this happened? Caution: the link goes to Aldi's garden page where there are two other mowers (a petrol and a cordless); this one is further down the page but doesn't seem to link to any details yet.
Anyway, people who bought Aldi's cordless mower seem very impressed so I'd hope this one is at least as good - does stripes too! At £79.99 this is the price of some of those little ones in the DIY sheds but this is a full 43cm cutting width (ie large) and a powerful 1800W. Big 60 litre grassbox and seven cutting heights from 20-70mm. 10m cable. Looks quite sporty too.
Something like that from Bosch is going to be double the price.
Personally I'd splash out the extra £50 for Aldi's cordless one (link below) but if your budget is smaller or you need more power and cutting width I think this one is well worth a look on Thursday.

This will be a cracking deal for the money as iv'e spent almost £300 on Bosch in the last 2-3 years
No. That's bloody dangerous and personally I'd take the lawnmower back to where you purchased it. Last thing you want is a fast spinning blade flying off.
If you look at the list of features for the mower on Aldi's site it says:
- Roller for classic striped lawn look
It wouldn't - but it has a roller! Maybe you are looking at the details of one of the other mowers which don't have rollers?
Great, thanks. I guess it started today but I picked up the leaflet yesterday, which I think is earlier than they're normally put out?
I'm holding off and going to store on Thursday.
They had the cordless version in my.local one yesterday so I'm sure they will have these
Did you get one? Let us know how it is once you've given it a whirl!
Yeah, just about to give it a go actually... I'll let you know
You can get locking bolts with plastic inner collars or you can use liquid threadlock should solve the coming loose issues
Don't mess with safety critical items! harrerdarren's suggestions may work but you shouldn't have to do that and I'd be extra careful given the potential for injury. Maybe a component is missing, faulty, broken or out of position? If you mess with it and it doesn't work, assuming you survive they'd probably be justified in refusing a refund.Take it back asap.
Very nice lawnmower, easy to assemble and feels sturdy.
Nice powerful motor and easy to adjust the cutting height
It's heavier than I thought it would be.
The manual says something about mulching which I didn't know it had.
Overall very happy with it and glad I didn't bite on the Bosch.
It's come from Amazon, made in the U.K
Will have to test it very soon then make a decision
Have you worked out how to mulch? Says it in the manual but now sure how to do it?
Haven't looked to be honest. I'll be getting it back out on the weekend so will check it out.
They all mulch really as the blade cuts up the grass before it enters the bag.
Agata had hovers before now, will try it on lawn later today to see how I get on.
Need a new mower, is this over kill?
Im quite good at keeping on top of it.
If that area is correct it probably is but that's really tiny - are you sure it's correct?
If so, how about something like this and save all the hassle of a lead:

Youre right, im a moron. We're talking about 60m2......
It's bigger than you need but it'll be fine and get the job done faster!
