Just found this while looking for an HDMI cable, not seen any this cheap never mind gold plated, Reviews look good and I'll be buying a couple at this price, only issue looks like the head of the cable is too thick to be used with a composite cable on the old style of X-Box (personally I don't know why you would need to use a composite cable and HDMI together), Certainly an excellent buy for DVD/Bluray/Multimedia Players.

For Use With HD TV's / Xbox 360 / PS3 etc

Technical Details:

* Premium Quality Shielded High Definition Cable
* Male to Male Cable For Use With PS3, TV, DVD Players etc.
* Supports All Resolutions: 480i, 480p, 720i, 720p, 1080i, 1080p
* Gold Plated Connectors For Improved Signal Transfer

I wonder which cable of the 2 in the pictures you get....I suppose the reviews aren't exclusive to one particular cable.

You get the black one by the looks of it, the user pics are the black ones

Although the pic of the other one says one buyer received the better quality ones

The pics with the 360 are the black one, the silver one looks like one (or more) user got a free upgrade, we can all hope

Or the seller swaps the product but uses the same reviews to paint a false picture.

The one in the xbox isn't the same as the one in the top picture....it has 6 grip lines on and the othe does not...so that makes 3 differant cables

Well there shouldn't be and the Mods closed my thread down before because Amazon sold out and the market place seller was put in to replace it and from what i remember the Mods came on and said no market place seller read the rules and expired it.

I bought one of these about two months ago (11 Oct according to Amazon). It is the plain black one and it's fine. Stop being so paranoid!

(Unless I work for memory capital, in which case, don your tinfoil hat.)

You've got to spend more than this, surely.

Thanks for jogging my memory, I stuck one of these in my basket earlier tonight8)

i bought 2 from poundland the other day but i think theyre only 1m

Reviews are saying it's not 1.8m but rather a bit over 1m. Also some say it's not working, others saying it's not gold... I'd stay clear. Amazon Marketplace sellers are known for sending wrong items if any.

got 2 of these last month - the wire is quite thin but they do the job

on the other hand poundland ones are much better quality but appear to be one way unless I got a faulty on

It's been this price for a lonnnnng time but did not post it as it's a marketplace seller.

Good Price I've ordered a couple.

It doesn't matter that they're cheap.... Because it's a digital signal an hdmi cable will either work or it wont... Don't get ripped off buying expensive hdmi cables.

I know I'll get flamed for this but I just read the help about psting deals and not only does it not mention marketplace sellers but it doesn't explain what a marketplace seller is, can someone enlighten me and link me to where this is explained? I thought all amazon sales were a combination of proxy and non proxy sales?

Thank you, was just about to mention this, can't believe people still fall for this stuff, hdmi just carries data from one end to another like a usb cable for example, nothing more.

Thanks OP, ordered 2. I was charged postage twice. Is this normal? I would have thought they'd come in the same envelope?

Why expired - I just ordered one. Thanks OP

Amazon Marketplace sellers are known for sending wrong items if any.

Claptrap! Twaddle! Codswallop! What an utterly ridiculous statement.

I have ordered at least 20 items from Marketplace sellers over the last year and none of them were incorrect or not as described. You can look at the feedback for a given seller anyway, if they were "known for sending wrong items if any" then surely there would be lots of negative feedback? If all Marketplace sellers were known for sending the wrong stuff or not sending anything at all, then Amazon would not persist with the Marketplace system.

There are probably some dodgy sellers. They are the exception and you can avoid them by reviewing feedback prior to purchase.

Normal in the world of the Amazon Marketplace at least. Amazon enforce separate delivery charges (and for some categories of product they enforce a fixed delivery charge, which is outrageous). Most sellers reduce the base price of the product to compensate, so you can see second hand books for 1p (because Amazon's enforced postage on books is £2.75). In this case, the base price of 43p is meaningless in isolation from the delivery charge. You basically have to readjust yourself to automatically combine base price and delivery on everything.

Personally I think this system is wasteful and unintuitive.

£1 at poundland and they work lile the £200 monsters, I got both
