For an extra fiver, I would consider this:

http://www.homebase.co.uk/en/homebaseuk/guild-cdt218g-li-ion-cordless-drill-driver---18v-464550

2 batteries. Getting extra accessories out of Lidl/Aldi has always what has put me off buying their power tools.

I had a look at that before but the charge time on that one is 3-5hrs. I think the aldi one is better for that reason.

good luck trying to pick one up in Homebase, always no stock !!

Ordered, thank you op

Brill deal especially it comes with the hss drill bits unlike ones out there

I wouldn't recommend these at all.
was ok a few years ago but not now. the chuck wouldn't turn, so I went for a exchange, same happened again when I got home, so I wanted another exchange but this time I thought of trying them out. all the chucks wouldn't turn.

For chucks sake

I've got this drill from last time round and its a work horse. highly recommended

Does this offer hammer mode? Assume not as not mentioned. Only has one battery but this is a lot cheaper than elsewhere. And Aldi or Lidl tech is usually decent quality.

Did you turn the chuck clockwise or anti-clockwise. Same thing happened to me when I bought the 12v cordless drill. Tried turning it anti-clockwise as it stated on the chuck (release), it won't turn. Then tried it clockwise - the chuck opened. Happy with purchase. Bought the spare battery from Walther-Services also.

Worth mentioning: 3 year warranty

it wouldn't turn at all, they were all jammed and I tried my hardest to unlock them .
anyway I then bought a Stanley ,£69 I think with 2 batteries.

would I be able to drill concrete wall with this? without buying anymore accessories apart from the ones that comes in the box? I would like to wall-mount my TV!

thanks for answers!

I would assume not. It doesn't have hammer action? You would need to have masonry bits.
