I am tempted, but the battery seems underpowered to me. I assume other Aldi batteries will fit, & they do regularly sell extra batteries. Want this to cut 18mm plywood. Anyone own this?

If you're not in a hurry to buy, check out the Clas Ohlson LXC range.

Not particularly cheap at normal prices but they sometimes do good deals around holidays and when they revise the range. Probably worth getting the £50 drill for the battery and charger, they currently have the old version rotary hammer (bare) on for £25 which is a pretty good price.

Spare batteries are not available for Aldi power tools. I do believe Lidl supply batteries for their tools and batteries are currently in the shop now 20v and 40v. Also chargers if needed.
Only workzone batteries will fit workzone tools. It says 27mm depth so 18mm ply should be fine. It's 18v, which is a powerful batter, 1.5ah is the life on the battery.

Yes there is a company you can buy the Lidl batteries off direct. I don't think they do 40v though but they do have a 20v 4Ah version at the moment.

Looks as though Aldi also have a battery nail gun available. Hope Lidl create one for their range as I've decided t stick with them for now.

I was going to post the nail gun but found it had been posted several days ago. Was a bit put out when I saw the price, I ordered a Ryobi nail gun a few weeks ago for £145.
But I have other Ryobi tools & several batteries so I guess I can live with it
But if I'd have seen the Aldi one first I'd have got that one. Don't regret buying a nail gun it's a great tool. Wish I'd got one earlier

I can't see the 40v on their latest offers last Sunday and I'm not sure if I know of any of their tools that would take that battery. Interesting if they are releasing a 40v range.

I've been using an old compressor based nailer when making some planters out of pallet wood. Lots of fun and very quick!
So far I've used this tool on 18mm reinforced cardboard, which it's great at. It had a great tendency to creep to the left when cutting anything more substantial. It will cut 18mm mdf, but you must clamp a straight edge or guide rail to the work or a fight will ensue for sure, which inevitably results in your work being butchered. I'm used to working with bigger circular saws on mdf "freehand", but this isn't a tool you can do that with. It's like pulling a rabid cat out of a scrap by it's tail!
