very nice Edi.:0

I just bought a Digimate Widescreen from Play.com for £129.99 and it's got a 'dead pixel'. Gutted. My eye goes straight to it as well.

Thanks dino

1 dead pixel is rated as 'usual' by many merchants. ;-)

Flippin eck, is it?:-( :-(
Does that mean I can't return it?
I'll contact Play.com and see what they have to say about it.:x
I might buy this and return mine under the DSR :whistling:

Just for information...Philips have a zero dead pixel warranty on their tft monitors. You may pay a little more but you get peace of mind for 3 years.
My hubby's monitor got a line of 'em down his monitor 4 weeks before the warranty ran out, phoned Philips, monitor replaced in 2 days,no questions asked.

Can't say fairer than that.

my dell 19" tft has none, touch wood none will appear

The '1 dead is no dead' is what I heard from PCWorld. ;-)

Recently bought two Acer Laptops for office and both had dead pixels.

Are you joking Edi?:-(

It catches my eye every time I look at the monitor. :x I've sent a message to play.com.

Nope... PCWorld refused a replacement. This policy is also confirmed by few other shops.

Replacement is down to the manufacturer and the position of the dead pixel in the screen.. If its at the middle of the screen, I'm sure you have a case to argue

WOW, that's a bit of a shock. :-(
I'll let you know how I get on.

Just bought a BENQ FP91G+ 19 Inch LCD monitor from staples Model Q9T4(Was listed on their stock as a T905 appears to be a substitute) for £149. Cannot see any dead pixels not that techie looks fine to me and it has a DVI input with fairly good reviews.

Not sure whether a good deal or not asked at checkout what would happen about any dead pixels and was told to bring it back under their 14 Day guarantee for computer equipment if there were any problems.
Also be aware that if you buy anything over the internet or by Mail Order that it might be covered by distance selling regulations which gives you a right to return it.

Not much of a first post, hope it helps
