19% discount @ Halfords via vouchers and easter 10% offer.

There was a deal posted by somebody last time halfords had a 10% offer on which stated you could get 20% by purchasing vouchers with the discount applied, then reserving an item and going in to the store and buying the item with the vouchers. This way you would apply the 10% discount twice.

I was too late to try the deal last time. But as this 10% offer lasts until Tuesday and the delivery date for vouchers ordered today is Wednesday, you should be able to complete it as I am trying to do.

I ordered some halfords vouchers online, and the 10% easter weekend discount was automatically applied to them. Their estimated delivery date is Wednesday or before.

I will reserve the item I want to purchase for store pickup on Monday or Tuesday (10% deal lasts until Tuesday). Which will reserve the item for 2 days. As long as the vouchers arrive while the item is reserved this should work.

The item I am buying is £100. It has the discount applied of 10% which makes it £90. I ordered £90 of voucers, which had the discount, making them £81. There was a delivery cost of £2 though. This meant I bought the £100 item for £83. The more expensive the item, the more worthwhile.

So you can get a 19% discount from halfords with 5 minutes of effort.

awesome but i reserved vouchers online £100
will collect in store and pay £90 for them
then i have reserved a bike that is £110
will collect in store 10 minutes after my wife collects the vouchers
and the bike is £99 after discount
so inthe the end the bike will have cost me £90 and ive still got a quid to spend thanks for the heads up

I suppose if you can use vouchers to buy vouchers @ 10% off you could end up getting everything fo next to nothing.

Are you sure about this?

The terms of the gift vouchers include:

"*We regret that Halfords Gift Vouchers cannot be redeemed in our online store"

As the Bank Holiday 10% is only on the internet store (& that is where you are getting the 10% offf the gift vouchers) I can't see you can have your cake twice. I guess you are hoping that "reserve & collect" does not count as the "online store" but I suspect that it does unless you know different.

I asked a store if they could match the 10% online price discount & tyey said no.

nerr should be fine, just means you can not use the vouchers when you want to pay online with them.

stock is stock as its instore stock you are taking with the collect service, just depends how much the item is if its worth popping home for to get the 10% onc you are in the store, which is why you have to order it online. if every jonny keeps rolling in asking to just take the 10% off then they will make less money. if its a small price item i guess most people will say 'its only a few pence' and pay the normal price

Yes, you could just keep compounding the discount. But I think you would run out of time on the 10% deal and still only be able to do it once.
