We're already living it.
"Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And the process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right."

George Orwell, 1984
In the current climate, is there a more relevant book than 1984?
Very apt considering our current situation

Just finished the audiobook of both on YouTube. Highly recommend.
I wonder if we get to keep them this time, or will they be removed from our kindles without warning again?

That and Brave New World.
Anybody know what's up with these Kindle books being free but not available yet? Why the delay until January?

I think Orwell is still finishing them up.

this is because the copyright expires on January first, and the books will be public domain, hence freely availible.
Saw “Animal Farm” on YouTube last weekend. Not a family film tbh....

Can't wait for this to be released! No spoilers guys
Mandatory vaccines and Covid passports best enough right out of Orwells classic.
I bought the kindle versions a few days ago for 49p each, if you wanted to read them sooner than January
1984 & Animal Farm will be auto-delivered wirelessly to your Kindle on 1 January 2021

Will be a nice surprise once i've forgotten about it!

Yes, Brave New World. We are living a combination of the two.

Neat.

But it says it will be delivered on 1st Jan 2021
Is this the Dutch one
Many thanks op, ordered for Jan
University of Adelaide used to run an excellent free public access portal for ebooks until the beginning of the year - copyright in Australia expires 50 years after the author's death if it was before 1955, which was the case with George Orwell/Eric Blair (1950)

Shame they closed the site in January (other Australian portals may exist, I've not gone looking for them myself)

Could be worse, you could have an infinite number of monkeys outside who want to talk to you about the script for Hamlet they've worked out.

Everyone says that every year for the past... since the book was penned.
