Seems a step up from the cr3ppy briefcase ones so heat for that. And yes I know it won't compare to a high end one but might just do for those on a tight budget
I know nothing about turntables, but as an entry level at this price paired with speakers at £29.99 it comes in under the briefcase ones and has Counterweight etc can't be all bad
This is actually a good deal, switchable pre-amp, adjustable tone arm weight, step up on cartridge from basic ceramic ones which are sold on turntables right up to £80 quid. And usb to get your records into MP3 ... Bargain!!
A decent turntable can be had for about£100. This one will sound awful and will have you running back to your CDs in no time.

Sweeping generalisations are not very helpful! I am willing to give this a shot for the money. It's heat from me.

Well either way CDs are better.
I have this under a different badge and it's brilliant. Better than the Audio Technics £100 one everybody recommends.

Great deal, thanks
Looking on the 3 camels this seems to be an astonishing price. Do we think the reviews are legit? There doesn't seem to be a bad one among them, and that's unusual as there's always some fusspot.

Curse you! I've been tempted into buying something I don't need once again! Still, it's a terrific price.

nope, not with a decent vinyl system, which this isn't

Oh well, mods nuked my Deal as they didn't think the seller had enough feedback (I assume), but the matching 1byone speakers are £29.99 (£20 off) at the moment amazon.co.uk/gp/…PJC

Sold Fulfilled By Amazon, so it should all be okay. One image on the listing for the Semi-Automatic Turntable has these speakers, so they should work fine.

Please someone convince I shouldn't buy it. What's the difference between this and for example those Audio Technica for £100-120?

Vouchers back on folks, so if you want one of these better chop chop
I ordered mine. Thanks op
Just set mine up. Don't know what to think of it. What's everyone else's verdict?
Received mine before Xmas. Very pleased with it. Connected to Denon amp and decent speakers, sounds good. Forgotten about the hisses and pops though.

What do you mean by hisses and pops? Never used a vinyl before, but mine is skipping. Any idea what it could be? Also, sound doesn't isn't that great either (I bought the speakers that go with this model).

Have you adjusted the counter weight?

I had a bit of bother working out best way to get it on, but landed lucky and got it on and seems to be playing well,

Not sure what kind of sound you are expecting from a set up at less than £100

I've never bought a vinyl player before, so you're right, I don't know what type of sound to expect. I'm guessing the skipping is something to do with how I've set it up

Im also not sure on sound but i bought it for my parents and they are happy on how it sounds, had trouble with skipping /repeating but got lucky with the counter weight and wont be moving again unless really needed
Haven't got round to setting mine up yet. Rewiring the room jnow but hope to be set up at the weekend. Will report back then. Gotta say though was well impressed with what was in the box for £30 and it looks and feels reasonable when compared to my pioneer deck.
