Added heat, great price for it!
Its always this price at HB. Much cheaper than the big supermarkets.
Make you own and get fit at same time
People pay for sawdust???
Yep for guniea pigs, hamsters etc. Bought sawdust is better for them because normal sawdust doesn't have the dust extracted and this can be harmful to small pets.
If you go to your local pet shop you can usually pick up a bale of compacted sawdust. I pay £8 which lasts about 4 - 5months
if you go to a joiner or saw mill and bring bin bag and get it filled for free .
but we are in a rural area with a few near hand, suppose you wouldn't drive far before it would work out costing more.
same price at b&m x
Good bargain, the cheapest I have ever found is about 79p from asda
I always get it for 49p from HB no difference whatsoever to the PAH sawdust
I've seen it all now

What is left when you have extracted the dust from saw dust???X)
Do you mean wood shavings rather than sawdust?
I used to get this for my rabbits and gerbils as it was a lot cheaper than wood shavings from my local pet shop. I stopped using it because it contains a lot of sawdust, a day after putting it into their cages all the surrounding areas were covered in sawdust. You may not care that your pets are having to breathe it in, but if it's getting kicked into the air then you and your kids are breathing it in too.

Thankyou!

Very cute :-) Our 3 year old hamster died 2 days before christmas,my daughter was devastated :-(
Same price at B&M.
They are also the cheapest place for fat balls for the birds at the moment - pack of 6 for 49p. Yes, I know you can buy the big tubs for a fiver elswhere which works out cheaper per ball and all that but if you only want a small pack this is cheaper than the pound shops or Wilkinsons.
Heat for the effort OP....

Yep. Theres a difference. Good shavings will be virtually dust free. Plain old sawdust (which will be a mixture of shavings and dust ..... LOTS of dust) is no good due to the level of dust in it.

I keep reptiles and use Aspen shavings. The stuff you get for rabbits etc is no good for reptiles as the wood it's made from (commonly pine I think?) is toxic to the snakes I keep. Hence I use Aspen (which is not toxic to them obviously) but tends to be a lot harder to get hold of ..... and more expensive.

If it's not full of dust, this stuff is good value. (But probably no use for reptiles.)
Love the way that waste products are sold for another use!

Fancy a drink of yeast's waste? booze

My gerbils quite like both, Pets at Home do a dust free sawdust which doesn't have the particles that are small enough to inhale. However the sawdust only comes in the small bales and I'd need a whole pack every time the bedding got changed, far more economical to buy the large bales of wood shavings which are probably better for them to build tunnels with anyway since there's more friction with the larger pieces.

Yep. Theres a difference.

It's even simpler than what you typed. One is dust, like the dust you get from sawing wood (hence saw dust), and the other has much bigger pieces, and clearly looks like wood shavings.:)
TY, bought 14kg. That should keep the wife and kids happy.
that's not sawdust . That's woodshavings.
