I'll have some of that, cheers.

Blimey, that's a total bargain. Great for the slow cooker or a nice roast

Think I'll buy more than one and give this a try, as I don't have a slow cooker. theguardian.com/lif…ork

Shhhhhhh I've been buying these for weeks... They'll be none left now! Lol

Get one of these pretty much every week. Highly recommend trying this: chow.com/rec…ork

I used this recipe at the weekend and it came out perfectly.

Pork shoulder-its fatty. That's where the flavour is.

hmmm, I was in yesterday and there were no such joints of shoulder. Do you have a receipt or photo to prove it ?

No mention on the site, no proof at all.

Yep and cooked well the fat will render down, infusing the meat, adding succulence and flavour as you say.

**** will have to wait for the weekend!

No, you don't have to prove it. Thanks for the heads up.

I've bought this cut a bunch of times, and it's always been perfect for pulled pork. I highly recommend going down the pressure cooker route! So flavoursome, and all done in less than 90 mins

I tend to roughly follow this recipe:

I've been buying these at Aldi for a couple of years. No need to prove it. And correct cooked slow it's lovely.

Where do you get your skins from?

+30% fat and 50% water of what is left after removing the fat and cooking the meat (tested by me last week using a kitchen scale).
So after cooking 1kg and removing the fat, you are left with 300-400 grams of decent meat. About 60-80 grams of protein for 2£, not bad.

+1 on that recipe from me. Been doing it with Tesco value shoulder for years. Cheaper cuts work better

Terrible taste and quality of this meat, cold, but price is good

No you don't have to prove anything! We only buy meat from our local butcher (for personal reasons) and i can tell anyone on here that this is the most succulent, tasty part of the pig, those who say its fatty etc, really cant have clue how cuts such as this should be cooked, they need time, and lots of patient love, but so worth it. When we have it for Sunday lunch, it goes in my cast iron pot, with 2 bay leaves, a bunch of thyme, a sprig of rosemary, an onion cut in half and a bulb of garlic cut in half (leave peel on) , about 1/2" water, lid o n , in the oven at 6am middle shelf, gas mark 1, and a 1 1/2kg piece is done to perfection in around 5-6hrs! Then leave in pot while you do your trimmings, and the juice makes perfect gravy! Shoulder of lamb is the same, as is a brisket joint! flavour like youll never get from your expensive cuts, delicious!

these have been in my local aldi at this price for ages.

local farmers shops. they either give them away or cheap for loads that last a long while if you keep them wrapped up in the fridge.

They are usually £2.99
I also use them for pulled pork. Once cooked trim off the fat from the top. Pout over a bbq sauce it make your own.. Pull the meat so it all breaks off and transfer to an oven dish. Bake for 20 mins in the bbq sauce and you get some lovely crispy bits too as well as all the juicy bits !!
And yes. It's down to £1.99 at the mo. I stocked up yesterday and froze a couple.

The newsagents (_;)

How come nobody has asked if this is free range? You'd all be clamouring if it was chicken!

Nobody's asked if it's halal, either. Odd.

Hope no one is telling porkies at this price, shoulder roll of the shelves from cold to hot !

Because I was in their largest store in my area and like I said if you care to look back, there were no such joints at that price ! That's why

That's possible but there were no spaces. Its the largest store in my area so it's surprising if they ain't stocking it. I would have had some at this price. I fancy some pulled pork carnitas !!
