Hi,

Holland and Barrett currently has a penny sale which makes this IMHO a good deal. 1 pack of 500g for £3.99 and 2 packs for £4.00. You'd be surprised to see how many people still go there and buy one pack..

Enjoy!

Please do feed the birds to help them through the winter. Sunflower seeds go down a treat.

Also, why not plant a tree in your garden to provide food over teh winter such as rowan, holly or crab apple?

That's a very good idea. I will research a bit more on this and definitely provide some food for our garden birds. Some very exotic types visit us sometimes..
Check your local Home Bargains, 500g of hulled sunflower seeds is less than £1 and the bigger bags not much more, I use them for the birds and in my own yogurt and have come to no harm.

Note this is in the pet food aisle, but they do have others in the baking aisle. Its the pet food ones we use and eat personally. More for your money and taste the same.

I paid £0.75 / 500g of black sunflower seeds from home bargaind petfood isle.

Also they had packets of 8 coconut halves with fat and mealworms for £2.50. Next door at Homebase 'sale' the same packet was £10.

Must admit I've never been to any Home Bargains stores. If the price you and fuiseogare saying is indeed their usual price, I've been massively overpaying over the years....

I just came back from my nearest Home Bargains store. The black sunflower seeds that you mentioned, as well as hulled sunflower seeds that cheekyweegit mentioned, were not for human consumption. This was printed on the packaging.

I bought them for the birds.
"You'd be surprised to see how many people still go there and buy one pack.." - I'd just go and buy one bag somewhere else, on grounds they've just doubled the price to sell you 2-for-1.

You're so mistaken that you don't even know how mistaken you are!
