Ah! the smirnoff of Gin, the council house tenants favourite.

Gordons is a good gin if you like the plain gin taste without over powering botanicals as is the ALDI gin it has won some awards also. i have been bought some "good" gins at 2-3 times the price but i also like the plain gin taste with a slice of lime and Gordons goes down a treat.
Not to sound snobby but this gin is not particularly good. As stated before, it is the Smirnoff of gins. Probably made in the same factory.

If you want something pretty nice on a budget then you can just buy the Aldi Oliver Cromwell for a tenner which is infinitely nicer.

*However* I am voting this hot because some people have really stuck-in-the-mud relatives who refuse to consume anything other than what they have known since the 70s - eg they would vomit on themselves if you offered them anything but Heinz beans.

    So I feel the pain.

    Hot hot hot.

This will punish your taste buds more than your liver

It's the Grandfather of Gin. Stood the test of time and it still going strong even with the small batch distilleries cropping up each week.

You may need some Tonic to go with the Gin Fever Tree

Prefer Greenalls myself as an ‘everyday’ gin (£16L at Asda).
But a decent price so heated.

Thanks for that, I prefer Greenalls as well but I’ve got a £3 off £30 Voucher at Tesco’s so may have to get 2 bottles of Gordons instead. Also agree with previous comments re Aldi gin, it’s nice, but a bit too botanical for my taste.

I definitely recommend the new Clementine tonic by Fevertree
Or stock up at the airport for £10 max

I wouldn't pair it with Gordons but there are several other gins where it really compliments the gin. It was only a Christmas edition and no longer widely available which is a shame.
Sick of hearing about gin, gin balloons and being stuck behind 40+ year old women ordering it in bars.

Funny, but there is some truth in it
How to ruin a good Vodka, flavour it with juniper berrys.............foul stuff

However, my dad drinks Gin on occasion, but i think this may be a downgrade from the bathtub gin i got him last time
Mothers ruin as my granny said , but nice with apple sour and a bit of ice will be mine , nice find
Twas this price at Sainsbrys last week, you are a bit slow.
All I need to do is get a few bottles then wait for the sloes to ripen this autumn.

    H'mmm. Maybe some blackberries too.

Then the used fruit gets put into some flooring grade red wine THEN make fruit jelly out of the leavings.

At least it takes the edge off winter

Aldi Gin is a tenner for 700ml. It's £15 for 1 litre which is hardly much difference.

I wouldn't say it's infinitely nicer either. A really close flavour to Gordon's. Both of these are not top shelf gins by any means, but offer really good value.

I didn’t see it at Christmas, but bought a couple of bottles in Tesco last week and liked it so much I bought some more in Waitrose 2 days ago, so it must be available again. Mind you with the new sugar tax it’s £1.80 a bottle!
This Gin deal plus++ many more spirits @ Tesco posted already on 9 Apr... bonkers
