Found 18th Nov 2009
Morrisons currently have books of First Class and Second Class stamps with 5% off. A book of six stamps will now cost £2.22 and £1.71 respectively.

This will come in handy for those pesky Christmas cards!

Superdrug have the same offer until 24th December!!

thanks like the idea of this

MSE's current newsletter says it's 5% off Second Class too at Morrison's.

It's usually only First Class which are on offer. If it's second class too it could be much more use for folk sending Christmas cards.

I haven't been so I can't confirm this, perhaps someone else can.

Seems clear in the op's deal that 2nd class also.

5%? That's pretty worthless on such a low amount, surely?

But who would only send 6 Christmas cards?

Good deal, thanks to the OP and the person who mentioned Superdrug

LMAO 5% off and almost 500 degrees

Scorching deal

5% is better than nothing adds up when your buy 100 stamps at a time.

ok then, find them cheaper yourself.

Stamps may as well be currency, and 5% off is a hell of a lot better than the 0% off which you'll get everywhere else.

Is it still true that stamps are legal tender, if so you could buy £1000 worth of these and they would be worth £1050?

You won't be spending them in my shop! ;-)

(if I had one).

yes this is bizarre.. but then shops must have a margin or they wouldn't bother selling them..

hint: some people post a lot of things every day.

No one gets a margin from stamps. They're using it to get you into their shop and spend on other products.

Approved retailers of Royal Mail stamps purchase them wholesale at a discount to their face value. ;-)

I don't know if it ever was, but it certainly isn't now.
I don't think your local county court will be happy to accept a few first class stamps in settlement of that CCJ. :-D
