is it going to be live-streamed on youtube?

answering it myself - not sure about youtube but YES! free online @ btsport.com
yes! free on Sky
yes! free on Virgin

makes a pleasant change to last year

Champions League should have been protected on Free to view. It was only a matter of time mind you.

England games will be the next to go..

Agreed, the advent of BT sport hasnt helped the consumer by taking games from sky, it means to watch the same number of games the consumer now has to pay Sky and BT.

yeah, the whole point is to protect the consumer and all It has done has cost the average fan more.

so you don't think one private company should be allowed to compete with another?

If you knew how the TV rights deals worked I'm not sure you would see it as a competition....

I would love multiple companies to bid for Football rights... FA Cup, Premier league etc...

I don't think the premier league should be broken into 7 groups of games and then allow one company to only buy 6.. I don't see how that is allow competition.. that's creating fake competition... no one bids to the level of sky... and their prices rocket anyway...

you really feel the system creates competition?

How does BT compete with Sky?

the same way the ESPN didn't and Virgin couldnt and Santana didn't... (or whatever they were called)...

I spose you would like 4 episodes of week eastenders to be on different channels all with their own subscriptions just so companies could "compete".....

The whole point was to break up skys monopoly with the intention to lower the cost for the consumer. BT use the loophole that "its free if you have BT internet" but that's just a dirty tactic.

They already have I think, except for the WC and Euros. They just happen to be on the TV as SKY haven't bothered to pick them up, I recall a time when they weren't on, about when C5 launched, as they had one dodgy away game as an exciting launch thing. But huge games like the final qualifier were definitely not on (against Italy)

but it's a bit like saying: those private Italian & French beaches with the paid deckchairs - it's so unfair, beaches should be free

the real world is more commercial

you don't have any right to watch champions league football for free or for reasonable prices even

the owner of the rights decides how much they will charge and you either pay it or find a way round

Not a Leicester fan. Never have been, never will be, but what they achieved last year is an inspiration to everyone that does any sport at any level. For this reason I will watch it, and cheer them on. But only for 90 mins.KTBFFH
