Without HeatSink (LINK)1TB - £83.70 / 2TB - £166.50

Next-level SSD performance
Unleash the power of the PCIe® 4.0 NVMe™ SSD 980 PRO for next-level computing. The PCIe® 4.0 delivers 2x the data transfer rate of PCIe® 3.0 while staying backward compatible for total versatility. The added heatsink elevates speed, power efficiency and thermal control to maximise gameplay.

* The NVMe ExpressTM design mark is a registered trademark of NVM ExpressTM, Inc.

Maximum speed
With Samsung’s in-house controller for PCIe® 4.0 SSD, the 980 PRO Series is optimised for speed. It delivers read speeds up to 7,000 MB/s, 2x faster than PCIe® 3.0 SSDs and 12.7x faster than SATA SSDs. The 980 PRO series achieves max speeds on PCIe® 4.0 and may vary in other settings.

* Sequential and random write performance was measured with Intelligent TurboWrite technology being activated. Intelligent TurboWrite operates only within a specific data transfer size. Performance may vary depending on SSD’s firmware, system hardware and configuration and other factors. For detailed information, please contact your local service centre * Test system configuration: AMD Ryzen 9 3900X 12-Core Processor CPU@3.79GHz, DDR4 2666MHz 16GBx2, OS-Windows 10 Pro 64bit, Chipset-ASUS-X570-ROG CROSSHAIR VIII FORMULA* Results are based on a comparison with Samsung PCIe 3.0 NVMe SSDs and SATA SSDs.* To maximise the performance of the 980 PRO, please check whether your system supports PCIe 4.0 at the Intel or AMD website.

Smart thermal control
Samsung’s nickel-coated controller reliably manages NAND chip heat levels. The 980 PRO's heat spreader label allows thermal control access. The 980 PRO Heatsink uses proven data centre SSD technology to dissipate heat, for continuous high-performance gaming on most consoles and PC systems.

A winning combination
Gamers, techies and designers benefit from thermal control, high-performance bandwidth and sustained performance for heavy-duty applications. Games load fast for more play, less wait. Smart heat management reduces distracting noise and cooling fans work for uninterrupted, fully immersive gaming.

Efficient M.2 SSD
The 980 PRO with Heatsink minimises space limits with a thin 8.6mm body, compatible with PlayStation®5 plus desktops and laptops meeting PCI-SIG® D8 specs. The 980 PRO's compact, easy to plug-in M.2 form factor maximises board design flexibility for building efficient, high-performance systems.

.
* PCI-SIG® D8 standard spec: 8.8mm

Great price. I paid £97.99 for the heat sink version in October on the hope that Samsung would maybe give cash back. Didn’t work out but it was still a decent price I think.

    Guess it doesn’t really matter…

The product [980 PRO with Heatsink PCIe 4.0 M.2 SSD 1TB] has been removed from your cart as it is out of stock.

Not working for me - won't let me add to basket or checkout (2TB). Is anyone currently able to add the 2TB non-heat sink to their basket? (edited)
    Avatar
    Doesn't work for me either
  20. Avatar
I think they've run out of stock

Not interested in the 1TB. I got to this deal early and the 2TB non-heatsink wouldn't let me checkout (said they can't deliver to my address?)... then said I had already exceeded the maximum purchases allowed (I've never purchased any before)... then couldn't add it to my basket at all. Just wondering, did anyone here manage to even get the 2TB non-heatsink one? I'm starting to think it was never available (it was saying In Stock for me throughout) (edited)
    Avatar
I got some of the same issues a few times (mainly the delivery one), then finally managed to get DPD delivery and onto the card payment step - then ended up with some error along the lines of "The basket amount must be greater than zero"? I feel like something weird was happening with the stock level too...

Was waiting for a decent deal on a sn850x but that doesn't look likely at the moment - I thought Cyber Monday might have thrown something up but no... I'm looking for a drive for my PS5.

This'll be alright won't it? There's not much in it I don't think.

    Heated OP!
