or 320GB LifeStudio Mobile External HDD: £29.99

Spotted these today. They don't appear to be on the website as they are old stock but there are plenty of them around my local area.

The 1TB requires external power the 320GB doesn't.

1TB: 928/4078
320GB: 928/4030

You can use ring and reserve to check for stock of these, or go into store. I found them on the clearance section of the stock checker.

Which Argos store and where were they placed?

I think this is the 1TB one. 1TB HDD

And this is the other one: 320GB HDD

There was one in pretty much every store in my area (Lincolnshire) and some available to order so I don't think they are short on these.

So how do you order if they are not online?

Why cold? It's cheaper than the ebuyer one on the main page! hotukdeals.com/dea…483

This is a good price, dont really hear as much about Hitachi drives

thanks for the heads up.

Just went down to my local argos and picked up the 320gb portable one for £29.99
These are from the old catalogue so do not show up on the argos site or on icheckstock.co.uk
What you need to do is:
1. find the 3 digit code for your local store using the store locator feature on the argos site
2. then call 0845 640 1010 and follow the voice to Check & Reserve either:
1TB: 928/4078 (not portable)
320GB: 928/4030 (portable £29.99)
3. have a pen and paper handy as they only tell you the six digit reservation number once
4. go to shop and collect
5. you can obviously try all you local stores for stock.

The 320gb portable one comes with short cable to connect to the drive, and a longer cable to connect to the stand the drive can sit it.
It is grey in colour and has a white light on the front top to tell you that it is plugged in.
Capacity is 297gb formated

Hope this helps, will answer any questions I can

Please could anyone purchased confirm what is the model/part number please.

From the tech-specs in this page, the grey (graphite) model number could be HLSMBEA3201ABB and part number 0S02687

Yes it comes with a standard cable too.

I can't decide to go for this 320 GB one or the Western digital one from Tesco for same price -> hotukdeals.com/dea…053

Western Digital one looks smaller in size.

Actually raj75 me too but I'm tempted to buy the wd from Tesco because I had 1 of them never had a problem plus I will make it clear this 1 at Argos are excluding 30 day money back guarantee I think we're better off with the wd.

I bought a harddrive from Argos before, not this one and from what I know of Hard drives are excluded from the 30 day money back guarantee

For just under £2 more can get the Western Digital 1TB I've just seen. Since argos are well argos, and Western Digital seems to be getting the thumbs up I guess I might opt for that instead

I think the Amazon one you mention is not portable one (i.e not 2.5").

yeah, everyone seems to like Tesco/Western Digital one, eventhough both are same cost. I am however interested to know what this Lifestudio may offer. Because their site lifestudio.com/pro…le/ seems to mention this device is more than just a storage device.

I was going to get the desktop one so it wasn't the portable one
