Right you guys are going to hate me, but I found this funny listing on Scan Today only.

Find this:

1TB Samsung HD103SJ Spinpoint F3, SATA 3Gb/s, 7200rpm, 32MB Cache, 8.9ms, NCQ + Scan Vantager HR-221 All in 1 Flash Card Reader USB2 inc Adapterless for Flash PC/MAC

You only find this on the Today Only.
You get free shipping through AVforums.

P.s. don't tell Scan, but it's cheaper than the HDD on it's own.
Surely you guys have this in a raid setup mirroring each drive 7 times over now. :P

Of course it's cheaper than scan regular prices - that's the point of today only deals after all !

PS unlike deals in the supersaver section ( where drive offers normally are) this deal isn't limited to one per order.

Why don't you scroll down and find the other HD103SJ on the page and see what I mean!

lol

Could you put this in an enclosure? If so can you point me in the direction of one please?

when i log into my scan account via avforums and select this hard drive, the price is still the same, any ideas?

Go West, Life is peaceful there, in the open air

Of course you can put it inside an enclosure, any 3.5" HDD will fit in a 3.5" HDD enclosure as long as the correct connector is present, which is now SATA rather than IDE

great hd, one inside my home pc right now.. need to resist clicking to get another one as I don't need the space!!!

have bought 4 of these a few months ago, all have either failed or are showing signs of failing

Surely that suggests a more ominous issue with your PC?

I bought mine from Aria, and the CPU that came with it had it's box bashed to hell by City Link. The only thing protecting the HDD was a single layer of bubble wrap. But because it isn't in motion, it should be harder to damage it. Maybe Wolf has a revision 1 Sandy Bridge board?

Thanks, ran out of room on my existing HD103SJ this morning so I've ordered

I've got 4 of these and no problems at all. I also have 3 of the 2TB Samsung drives in my main PC.
Two fans keep all these cool. The other poster, sounds like your PC is the problem.

Samsung have now sold their hard disk division to Seagate, I hope flashing the firmware will not "now" void the warranty as is the case with Seagate.

has this expired now. I cant seem to find it or can someone post the url

Expired - comes up at higher price now...

I have a 1tb and 500gb in mine with an 80mm fan [23.0 CFM / 10 dB(A)] to pull the heat from the cage. Had no issues with temperature.

All in seperate machines mate. built 4 systems for different people over the space of a month or so, and all are having file corruption, 1 of them has already developed bad sectors and ghost is reporting read errors on them all, none of the machines have sandy bridge chipsets, and all are probably going to be RMA'ed to scan
