Or Hexus/AVForum free delivery as stated by OP.

Good price, might buy one to slot alongside my 500gb F3. Been pleased with it, very speedy.

What do i do at checkout to get free delivery as ive posted enough alteady on the AV Forums.

Good price, heat+.

Scan has always been brilliant with their service, but do check out their warranty cover though as I (and others) have had quite bad experience with a few returned HDDs (Samsung F1). Since the F1 has been discontinued, they would only give partial refund based on usage and age, eventhough it is still 'under warranty' period, they would not give you an equivalent like a F3 for replacement.

You cannot deal with the manufacturer directly as I think Scan source these outside UK, so the HDD must be returned to Scan.

I had this issue on my first few orders

I'm a massive Scan fan, only started using them this year but have placed at least 6 or 7 orders and been very impressed.

Mmmm! Should be immediate, have you posted much on AVF? You need at least 20 posts, and also, the value of the order must be over £20 exc VAT? Maybe give it a couple of hours and see if free delivery works?

increases latency for a small increase and read and write speeds, never really thought RAID was worth it. Oh and it also increases risk of failure.

RAID 1 (mirroring) is the way to go if you value your data and the ability to keep working even if there is a drive failure.

Gone for this, well spotted jukkie! (I mean the drive not the specs)

Got the 500GB model a few weeks back - very impressed! Quiet and VERY fast!

dcx_badass;8023029

Not just the best value, it's one of the fastest HDDs on the market atm.

:thumbsup:They are blazingly fast.

There have been reports of a few dodgy Samsung F1,F2, etc but the 8 or 9 I have have been fine.

Dunno If I have any f3's so time to order 4 I think.

Voted hot.

Well I would do if there were on todays deal

EDIT Samsung hard drives have their own section in Todays deals (or rather the deal of the day) further down the page

Literally Had Raid 0 go wrong 2 months ago with the F1 Samsungs, never again, forget performance it aint worth it if you value your data:thumbsup:

Any news on how this is on the old PS3s? There reports of SATA II drives giving an error message on start up occasionally on the original PS3s (I have a 60GB one).

Thanks!

Yes

thanks dude. Buying now!

K1LLER HORNET;8023431

Yes

You can but it is pointless doing so, would suggest clearing out the storage data (music, photos, vids etc) to this drive and then leaving more room on your OS drive.

If your OS ever crashes and you have to reinstall the progs anyway so you may be left with duplicated data, I keep the OS and progs on 1 drive and then data backup to another.

Tempting to pick x2 up, and whack them in a Thecus, as per post the other day:

£112.80+(2x£57.56) is not too shabby...

A very good drive. I currently have a 1TB F1 and a 1TB F3 drive and they provide very good performance while still being quiet.

Do double check on this as stated in my 1st post. We (my friend and I) bought a batch of 4 x Samsung F1 hdd, 1 DOA which Scan replaced straight away, mine died just 16months later and only getting a partial refund (£41), my friends just sold 2 and buyer report 1 has died, which again, Scan will only partial refund. Remember, all these are within the 36months period.

I guess anyone who has got one already is to go to Samsung's warranty checker and see what warranty code it returns on your HDD, if its 103 (or is it 106), then you could be screwed if it fails and Samsung discontinues the F3.

Just my 2p worth, don't say I didn't tell you so

AVF is telling me:
"Unfortunately you only have 15 posts, so please make 7 more useful posts on AVForums to qualify for the SCAN & AVForums loyalty programme."

Bummer

Excellent find OP - thanks(!)

I was literally just about to buy this drive from Scan (at the HIGHER price!) before I saw this offer... Cool(!)

Scan need to update their price system though - it's pretty unfair that they are selling exactly the same item at 2 different prices simultaneously?? I would never have found the lower price on their website if I hadn't read this thread...
