Good idea to put the price and retailer in the deal title...

Ooops, thanks.

Hi Treboath,
Thanks for posting.
I have tried to find your item on the Today Only page and I have failed.
Also your link:
secure.scan.co.uk/asp…spx
shows an empty basket for me.
Can you confirm with a new link that the item is still available please?
Best regards, Chesso

About 3/4 down the today only page.

I wonder why they so desparately try to hide that this is a 3.5" drive which needs an external power supply.

Found it - thanks.

I am not an AVFORUMS member.

The postage cost is extortionate and makes this deal cold.

Definitely worth joining them - not only for the free scan postage.

i have to say that although this is a cheap deal for a 1tb external, i have had this very disk and it failed twice... having said that after the second fault, they did send me a 1.5tb drive as a replacement, but the amount i have spent on postage made it a bad deal. in fact, all of my seagate disks have failed in the last couple of months, so yes i am a bit of a seagate hater.

you've been here over a year, the number of times its mentioned you probably knew about free del in your first month.
plenty of time to have signed up in advance... do you buy food 3 times a day?
think ahead!

You've completely lost me there, it's clearly stated that it has an external PSU.

Should these not really be cheaper in general? As in I purchased a 1tb 3.5 from amazon for 47quid for the full jobby of external casing, power supply, usb lead... surely they should be less..

Here is a radical idea. Become an AVFORUMS member.

There is no minimum post count before you get free delivery these days.

What makes you think this doesn't have casing, power and USB lead?

I hate scan and if you have a fault... GOOD LUCK !!!

You're funny because you're silly.

Link?

Not possible to link to an individual item when it is on the "Today Only" page, so the OP linked to the page and you have to find it yourself. It's about 3/4 of the way down and is the one with the picture by the, "External Hard Drives".

They kinda abuse their 'Scansure' service and make it very tricky to return things with genuine faults if you don't buy it.I built a PC for someone but the front chassis of the Coolermaster case obviously had damage to it as it was hanging off as I'd lifted out of the box - one phonecall to scan and I get told "well, we've never had this fault before with that specific case" and basically said tough luck and I'd have to pay for delivery there and back when they refuse it for being my fault.I've probably saved a bundle with their Today Only and Free Delivery though... I don't even visit other computer retailers now...

Yea, they can be **** if you have a problem.

Best price i've ever seen on an external hdd i think! Great deal!

Pretty unreliable and noisy drives - have had two replaced so far over as many years. Best thing I can say about them is they have a decent warranty, coz you are going to need it.
