ChuggeeIt would run at PCIe 3.0 speed, and most PCIe 4.0 drives have better random IOPS than PCIe 3.0, even when running at 3.0 speeds, the only thing that would suffer is the maximum sequential speeds which aren't that important once you move from SATA to any type of NVMe drive. (edited)

777jrg_This isn't fast enough for PS5 if you were to go by what Sony recommends.
Also a while back you could get a 980pro from Samsung student portal and claim £40 cashback for about the same price as this. Maybe it's worth checking if that's still going? (edited)
steve1221Would this need a heatsink? I have a Dell G7 laptop and as far as I can remember when I took the bottom off last, there's not a lot of clearance above the ssd enclosure.
