Whilst in TKMAX Westfield Stratford I came across a street fighter 1up Arcade box. Reduced down to £217. Grabbed it as I will mod it.

Make sure you purchase a little chair to go with

Looks awesome, how would you mod it? If you don’t mind me asking

I’m assuming, remove the board it comes with and add a Pi. Disconnect the IO controller pins and re-solder them to a USB controller board and connect to the Pi and re-map inside emulation station.

That’s my guess anyway

I think he meant how to install custom roms.
Seems odd that these are all the original Street Fighter as opposed to the more popular sequel....
Are these flat pack arcade cabinets?!

Wow at how small that is. Joke.
Shame these aren't avaliable from 1up themselves... would cost £195.95
Seems a bit pointless giving you 3 different variations of street fighter it would be more tempting to have a street fighter and 2 different games

yeah, the street price around here has been £400 ish. Which is most certainly overpriced for what you're getting. At £200 retail it might be worth a consider.

I don't know why for a few extra £s worth of chipboard they didn't put something like this in the box, it would make it much more appealing
+nice work if you built that one
Will go down again on Tuesday by 33%

They have actually started to do it now. You can pre-order the cabinets with included riser from Smyth's toys

I think they're just tweaks between them so pretty much the same rom set. Normal street fighter 2 is really slow compared to Turbo.

Take the current computer out and put another small computer in there than can run all sorts of games.

We also have to pay VAT (and mark ups due to worldwide distribution costs) on top of the price if you're only converting the US price based on the current exchange rate.
Shame it's not the Mortal Kombat kit as it's got a better finish to it, I do agree it's worth modding these. But it might be better to just build a PiCade kit or buy a Pandora's Box Table top cabinet.
I love how it says "3 games"....

It's the same game slightly modified each time...

He pretty much just explained the stuff needed to put roms on
need be sub £100 for me to bite. to cheap in quality to warrant more then that
thanks picked one up from lakeside on the weekend. I think it was the last one there by the looks of things (was in the clearance section at the back on the first floor). £217

Not really, he explained maybe how to replace the entire internal computer. It's normally a lot easier to simply edit roms by modifying the flash.
