I wondered how long before someone said that.....
These require a licence for use in the UK & that costs.
They are NOT PMR & are useless without a valid licence as they are illegal to use here.

Should be in the title
I bought these from this seller and the belt clip is all plastic (including a stressed plastic spring) and completely useless. All the other 888s I've bought come with a clip with a metal base that connects to the radio and a metal spring. Not a big deal if you don't intend to use it.

So is HUKD only for people who don't have licences? I've got a UK AR license so can use these on the amateur band.

What an illogical leap.
Who has said ( apart from you ) that HUKD is only for people without a licence to operate a transmitter?
Not legal for PMR446 use in the UK...

Hi 'SOUTHWALES' been missing your posts about all things radio / walkie talkies generally! Got me a set of Baofeng 888's but having trouble programming them with legal frquencies using 'chirp' and cable! Managed to edit and upload the PMR446 frequencies to both units - but they don't communicate with each other afterwards! Tried twice now - but have to reload the default illegal frequencies (from new) to get them to talk to each other! Are there any other parameters that have to be altered apart from frequency?
Cheers!

Hi, I will get back to you in about an hour once I am home. All the tones should be set to none. And set it to NFM. I take it you know there are 16 channels simonthewizard.com/201…ts/

You have programmed legal channels in a radio not designed or approved for use on PMR.
