If you click a page further it says 7th October - also the QR code in the app says 7th October too. I think the original promo was until end of September but got extended by a week.

Heat added

That picture does look nice.. I've never been to Toby carvery. Been told I'm not missing much but it looks really delicious. Gonna have to try it! Heat op

ps out of interest how much does it cost normally without this offer?

Pricing varies - my local is £6.49 without the offer (which I still think is good value for money)

Ah great thanks... I just googled how far away my local is and it's half an hour drive. Was thinking of asking my mum to go with me and my daughter tomorrow for tea. I'm presuming we can just show up can't we

Sure - just remember to download the app. If theres 3 of you, there should be a 33% off £15+ food spend still running for the 1st time you download the app which would probably work out better than the 2 for £10 offer.

They cut it with a knife in front of you at my local. Nothing wrong with it for a fiver.

I tried Toby carvery the other day. Its not the best quality but it's cheap and plenty of food. I'm veggie and went for a tart that tasted like cardboard, wish I'd just gone for the carvery with no meat option as they have a cheesy veg dish to help yourself from. Its basically like McDonald's but roast dinner - cheap and tasty enough.
Drinks are so expensive though!! Can any of my fellow tightwads recommend a cheap drink option? I'd gladly order tap water but hubby would disown me!

Whiskey on the rocks, minus the whiskey.

Used to love Toby Carvery, but then their meat went downhill. Now I find it's chewy and fatty and nowhere near as good as it was. Mind you, for the price you can't really complain. Not many other places that you can get a belly full of food (and I do mean full) and a beer for less than a tenner.

Used to be nice until some time ago but lately there beef is so bad, it's like chewing leather.

Thanks OP.

Also got a free J20 when signing up, and 33% off food using the APP in future.

No wonder they're cutting back on the meat, lasers aren't cheap.

Are you a vegetarian?

We must have a particularly good Toby in Gorleston. Excellent beef, good selection of veg including braised onions, really crispy roast spuds, great yorkshire puds and either horseradish or whole grain mustard gravy.

£6.49 each.

Don’t forget to finish with the decent size ice cream in a sundae glass with toffee sauce and flake for £2.

I love a good roast dinner

Well he defiantly didnt have an axe to ground as he still works for M&B as a Trainer...

But knowing how much a roast cost it would seem difficult to make your standard 65% GP margins. Unless they run the McDonalds model who run on a low GP of 23% but rely on mass volume to make their money.. Even then that seems unlikely...

Assume you’re not a restaurateur. Carveries are effectively a loss leader as people buy drinks on top, which are highly profitable. I have a family member who worked for the same group (who owns the Toby chain and some others) and the meat is absolutely not reformed - they’re proper, hunking great lumps of meat. Even the mash is made from scratch in the kitchen.

I would take whatever your friend said with a pinch of salt, unless his restaurant has been sub-let to some Farmfoods carvery franchise. Not saying Toby is the best carvery you can get - I can make a *much* better carvery myself) but for a fiver you’d have to be mad to complain.

I've just got back home from the carvery with 7 people
