Got via the BG app but no doubt on the website too!

Could be worth doing with all being stuck at home

Watch me shower twice a day for those two days.
And charge my phone at home rather than work.
All TVs etc will be on standby overnight for those two nights, forget turning them off at the plug.

Tis the stuff of dreams.

It just calculates your average daily spend over a period and then gives you back credit for the average daily spend

Lighten up John. I’m not really going to do any of those. Shower twice a day? I’m not Royalty!

Great thank you I got 4 days free electricity )
Tried to check, it's not on mine - not yet anyway. Crossing my fingers and toes it'll appear soon! Heat anyway.

Didn't get any bad gateway stuff, but it did two messages, second one said something about problems with the app - didn't read it properly as I hadn't had problems myself.

I'm on a safeguard prepayment meter. The offer was there. It applies to prepayment meters?

unfortunately they use an average
Sounds a joke. Two days of elec between 9-5. Which two days? Those with least usage?

Unfortunately, it’ll also be a case of watching them overcharge you for in excess of the two days you got free, through incompetence.
Once we finally got rid of these morons in a final act of numpty they disconnected our neighbour’s supply by mistake.

My mum just checked (electric only) and she has 20 days, I asked it she menat 2 days and she said "no, I always get 20 days"

It’s 2 days for every year you have been with them up to max of 20 days. I’ve been with them 4 years so get 8 days free

Oh cheers for that, she must have been with them over 10 years then, she says it's always the best price for electric only anyway

Their not actually free days. You get credit applied to your bill based on the average amount of daytime electricity usage between 9am & 5pm over a period of 6 months.
I got free 10 days twice (seems to be a yearly offer) and 6 once (this was an introductory offer)

They average over your consumption and don't actually give you 2 days free....

Back to one shower a day you peasant
Just reduce your prices.
Energy suppliers are earning a lot from the virus situation with all the people at home 24/7 and not one of the greedy flippers have done a single thing to help anyone
Always check the unit rate on these deals, as you may be slightly over charged the other 363 days. Always best to do a price comparison or use one of the Refer a Friend deals offered at the moment which can be worth up to £100

How strange estimated savings so far for me was £5.10 too
Does anyone know what month meter readings are supposed to be sent in, my accounts shows they are due but surely it should be May as my last readings were end of Feb and I pay quarterly. They are supposed to email me a reminder to send in the readings but never do. I currently have 18 free days, but just flowers, Hive and days out this time.
How can they calculate your average 9-5 usage if you don't have a smart meter?
I got it.I will able to leave the spa on for at least a day now

Well done for having such low electricity bills
Offering a slight, barely noticeable reduction to prevent customers switching.

Better to switch, than build loyalty.
You could save much, much more from doing so.
davidridge113/04/2020 07:24

Just reduce your prices.

Just use Uswitch and switch onto a cheaper tariff with them, you pay no penalty fee and I’ve saved tons by just keep switching within British Gas.

I love the way so many people assume they are the only ones who know about switching, that others have not checked and are being ripped off, some people can get the best rate and loyalty offers, especially giving their supplier a call after checking a comparison site.

Worse still these threads always bring out a raft of people saying "just switch", "forget loyalty switch", "you're being ripped off just switch", no advice to actually check first.

Most people here should know how to switch, if you really want to help, sort out your elderly neighbours who may be on a standard variable and are really being exploited, this is exactly what I do. Some over 70's don't even have access to the internet.

So I have this offer but they are giving me 18 days but like the image in the post I don’t understand the 6 month & 12 months thing, they say they will take the cost at that time which is confusing me
