2 Edinburgh B&Q closing down due to relocation. Selling off existing stock

LocalFound 4th Sep 2007
Found this when looking for plants. The B&Q in Stevenson Road, Edinburgh [Back of Murrayfield Rugby] & The B&Q in Longstone, Edinburgh are selling existing stock at reduced prices. They are closing because B&Q are opening a new warehouse store at Hermiston Gate, Edinburgh and have no need for these 2 stores.

They have too much on offer to specify.Large plaster ceiling roses half price etc, plus much, much more. The last day of trading is October 18. The prices might get cheaper the closer to this date, as they probably don't want to take the stock to the new store. but then again you might miss something you want if you wait.

Sorry this is just Edinburgh, but it maybe a business re-organisation, closing smaller stores and opening larger warehouses. Maybe the Head office could confirm if any other stores are doing the same.

You will find that this is only happening up in Edinburgh, B&Q open about 5 - 10 new stores a year countrywide. It is quite common for them to close a supercentre if it is within a couple of miles of a new store. To my knowledge the next store closure will probably be Ascot Drive in Derby as they are building a new Warehouse not too far away and it opens in Feb next year.

If you live up in Edinburgh I would recommend a look as there are always plenty of bargains to be had in these store closures
