One night.Departs around 5pm , gets in around 9am, then you leave at 5pm the same day arriving back in the UK 9am the next day.

You can get cheaper deals - I've seen £19 pp return during the week.

These trips are much better if you can add a night (or 2) in a hotel. Not really worth it to just go straight there and back!

Newcastle departure too far from Eastbourne.

Yes but us folks in the north would like a bargain now and then. You have the luxury of all the cheap cross channel routes, we don't, at least not without a horrendous drive down south.

They have just dropped Airport tax in Holland so cheaper to fly and have a boat trip in 'Dam' and then fly home !

It was £68 return for two over the Christmas holidays, and went up to £84 per person with a night or two in a hotel in Bruge. But we ended up not going.

Do you have a link?
I can only find KLM flying Newcastle to Amsterdam and they want over £500 for 2 adults return:shock: Even driving up to Edinburgh and using Easyjet would mean a fare of over £200 and that's before factoring in the cost of the drive.

We went a couple of years ago from newcastle. Boarded around 4pm arrived around 8am the following day, stayed night in hotel thenthen left amsterdam the following day around 2pm and crossing was over night again. Had cabin on boat tiring but good, cheap couple of days

Pip pip my good nobleman, us folk in the nothern hemisphere would like a reduction in price once in a while. Your goodselves have the affluence of all of the cheap cross-channel routes, we miners do not, at least not with a 24 hour carriage ride down to the southern hemisphere.

That pompous enough for you?

subsoniccoyote;4769038

Well unless you can find post the £19 deal this is a hot deal.

Never said this was not a decent price for the time of year (in fact voted hot) - the prices go up as the year progresses.
During the winter £19pp is common during the week. In common with all travel methods prices go up at more busy times.

Ferries are almost sold out this week with the Tartan Army launching their invasion of Holland and returning this week so would not like to be on it during the next few days.....hehe.:-D

Excellent

Took this ferry to go back to the UK at Xmas.

Coffee ranges from 5.80 to 7.80 Euros!!! :w00t:

The "world renowned" buffet is absolutely crap

Everything on this ship is expensive...it;s Scandinavian so that probably gives you a clue.

I've been working in Holland this past year and I can't say I'm impressed witht he place at all I'm afraid to say...you'll be even less impressed when you take into account the Stg/Eur rates as well.

Don't forget you need to pay 50c in most pubs in Amsterdam for a pee - what a crock!

I'll need to check that out - flying from schiphol is ridiculously over-priced.

I've seen flights from edinburgh to schiphol return at 99 quid but going the other way the same dates is 300 Eu....

These days I fly from Dusseldorf Weeze to Edinburgh for 36~56 Eu

(funnily enough most of the cars in the car park are Dutch)

Fxxk the Dutch Govt. and their lack of competition country
