This is a good price but it is definitely worth it to add a night in a hotel as well otherwise you only get about 4-5 hours in Amsterdam itself after you have deducted the travelling time on the shuttle bus from Ijmuiden and back.

Agree with above poster - I have done this before and enjoyed it, but 90% of your time is on the ferry!

Just be careful you read the small print as was looking into booking one of these for a work party but if you read the small print the food & drinks are very very expensive on board & you cannot take your own with you!

You can take your own. In fact most people do!

As stated, you are in Amsterdam for around 5-7 hours only. (break includes coach to city centre) The ferry back is around 5pm on the day you arrive. (disembark 9am)

However, you also get 2 nights on the ferry. 2 nights bed, and a day in a lovely city like Amsterdam for £34.50 per person, (based on 2 people) you can't go wrong.

This was previously posted in advance (4 weeks ago) but well worth a repost.
The route is starting to get busy now and from May on will normally be packed, especially at weekends and prices go up accordingly, especially with demand. Good couple of days away, but as stated above food on board is very expensive so bring your own and buy your beer from the duty free shop on board, not from the bar.

Saw this before, what a bargain. With 5-7 hours in Amsterdam I'd reccomend the Heineken Experience (discount vouchers available online).

Been on this trip 12 times.
I've ALWAYS took food and drink onto the Ferry with me, as have all my mates too.
The time on the Ferry is tons of fun and a very good night.
I only go to Amsterdam for the smoke, and the times we've only stayed for the 5 hours has been enough if that's all you're planning to do, if you smoke TOO much you usually end up wanting the time to go by quicker so you can get back on the boat. More time is needed if you're wanting to sight see and stuff like that.
Any first timers looking to go for a good smoke please be careful with how much you have. The first time I went I only had TWO joints and I was messed up for the rest of the day.
Staff in the Coffee Shops are always very helpful when it comes to explaining strengths and what not so never be afraid to ask.
Any experienced people looking to go i'd highly recommend the G13 Haze from Barneys if you've not tried it already. Grey Crystals from the Grey Area are a treat too.
Apologies if this drug advise isn't allowed on here, please delete if it's not.

The past couple of times we went we got a hotel for the night.
I'd HIGHLY recommend Hotel Ben. It worked out at only £30 a night. The rooms were big, and it was located right in the middle of everything we could possibly need.

Why's this expired? EDIT: Because it has! I thought this offer was on for ages, oh well.

I took this ferry over the festive period (I'm currently based in Holland) and I don't blame you for taking your food with you - I paid for the meals on the way over and it is a rip off and not particularly good quality (poor to average I'd say).

The price of a bloody coffee was ludicrous - 5.80 to 7.80 Euros or something :w00t:
