For that price I would expect to open the paint and it puts itself on the wall!!

With saffron for colour.
That’s quite a good deal, why is it cold? Even the paint is better these days, the old stuff was a cow to use.
What's it made from, unicorn pee ?
It's to paint as Waitrose is to Asda

I have to agree with you the paint is much better this days compare to 3 years ago. It was like a water.
Coverage is really good 2 coats is enough.

Homebase own brand does same job for a fraction of that price.
A lot of ignorant comments posted on this deal. This is a good price for a very well respected and excellent quality paint. As with most products if you want the best you have to pay more. Good deal.
My tin hat is now on.

What you have said doesn't make sense.
What makes this better than other paint. Does it really make a difference in my living room?

Thanks @Nicebob I can’t understand why some people are so rude.
It’s a premium paint for a slightly reduced price.
Yes its it’s better than ‘Focus Basics’. If it’s worth the premium is up to you.
Better coverage and colour depth than more common brands.

Paint is most certainly not just all the same

would I do my whole house in it, not likely. But for a living /dining room that has already had some cash invested an extra £35 quid for a more impressive finish on a couple of walls could be money well spent.
It's the apple effect. Charge stupid money and people think its top quality. Fools are easily parted with their money. This paint is no better than Dulux etc.

I Have to disagree with you. I got paint from bnq about 6 years ago and used it in a new place just over a year ago. One coat it took... One! The paint want £35 for this little amount.
I have heard from plenty of decorators that it is overpriced and under specced paint. I have been told to get Johnsons paint mixed up to the same colour (they match it exactly...well as exactly as you can I guess). Its cheaper per littre and you need less litres.

Had you included an inferior paint brand in your comment to make the 'poor paint = Asda'.......'F&B = Waitrose' analogy......then it would have made sense, without that it doesn't.

Normally true but in this case I must respectfully disagree. This paint is awful. I've used it personally and I also make a point of asking every new decorator I ever work with and they all, bar one, hate it. It forces them to put on more coats for the same coverage. More coats = more time.

I have used many different emulsion paints over the years and from my experience Farrow and Ball gives a far superior finish to Dulux. The matt paint gives a very smooth flat finish without roller stripes which is more than I can say for Dulux

Never had roller stripes with dulux, obviously you weren't doing it right. Like I said the Apple effect.

I honestly hadn’t realised this was a product review site or I would not have posted. If you don’t like F&B, or can’t afford, then that’s fine but lots of people, like me love F&B! I have seen plenty of deals on here that aren’t for me but I don’t negatively comment on them just because they don’t fit my lifestyle but that doesn’t make them bad!
Definitely my last deals post!

I think it's always interesting to see how people's opinion agrees with, or differs from, your own. One of the things I like about hotukdeals is all the extra information that appears on deals, suggested alternatives, etc.

My whole house is painted with Farrow and Ball, applied by me about three years ago, and I thought it went on very well. But like some other commenters, I have asked a professional decorator, and he didn't like it.

Anyway, this deal is much appreciated by me, so please keep posting!
Used this before and thought it was a bit poor.

Great post Fiona. Ignore the trolls. You pay your money and make your choices. Personally I love F&B and this is a good deal. To put it into perspective, a Bentley deal got to 890 heat at £202k whilst a little city car costing around 7k went hot too. Both good deals in their own right, it’s not always about cost

Exactly this. Not used F&B paint but I used Little Green on a bedroom, wasn't particularly impressed. Next time we just got Johnstones colour matched and that paint was much nicer to work with and a lot cheaper!
