2 'free' (£86) Legoland Windsor tix with £4ish spend
Newspaper-based token collect
What: 2x free tix to Legoland Windsor Get by: Sun 3 Jun 2012
How: In a nutshell, collect nine tokens, pick dates that you can make then send off an application form by post. But it's mega-fiddly. Here's a step-by-step...

Step 1: From Sun 27 May, collect tokens from nine different Suns (30p weekdays, 50p weekend) till Mon 11 Jun. The last date you can start collecting is Sun 3 Jun.

It's a £2.70 spend on papers, plus 2x 60p for first class stamps. So your total spend should be £3.90. As adult tickets are £43.20 each on the day (£34.20 for kids), this could save you about £86.

Step 2: You need to be flexible and you must follow these fiddly rules to the letter. Choose four out of seven date bands below spanning from Jun-Nov 2012. You'll be allocated a specific date within a band - you can’t request a date unfortunately.

Band Date range
A 25 Jun-10 Jul
B 11 Jul-31 Jul
C 1 Aug-18 Aug
D 19 Aug-5 Sep
E 6 Sep-24 Sep
F 25 Sep-15 Oct
G 16 Oct-5 Nov

Step 3: From Thu 24 May, download the application form from The Sun (or get in paper). Then list your four date band choices, in order of preference, on the bottom right hand corner of the envelope you send your application in. Applications that don't include four band choices won't be processed.

Applications must be received by Wed 13 Jun 2012. Fill it in, attach the tokens and send to the address given, plus an SAE of at least 15 x 8cm with a first class stamp attached.

The tickets will be valid for one day from one of your chosen date bands where possible. You'll be contacted with an alternative if your dates are unavailable.
Excluded dates: N/A
The detail: Allow 28 days to receive the tickets. Photocopies of tokens aren't accepted and will be void if used on any other date than the one given. Watch out, as if you send multiple applications from the same household they’ll all be void.

Additional visitors must pay full price. Not valid with any other offer. Tickets can be used by adults or kids. Excludes Legoland Windsor Resort Hotel.

Ahh right, thanks for the reply.

Good deal, I have been there a few time with kids and they love it.

I suppose it's a good deal if you don't have kids in school or don't work! Only joking, but still fiddly so not voting either way.

I don't suppose it's like their holidays where you do it once via a postal application and then subsequent years they email with website link where you can instantly check specific dates?

I Thought it was a self addressed envelope( with postage on it).

i like the guy,hes funny, someone should tell him about this site. oh tell him we live in a capitalist society. dont be shocked if you have to pay excessive amounts of money in some unavoidable situations, like theme parks, bring sandwichs next time, i will.lol

Yesterday I converted my £22 worth of tesco vouchers for Legoland Windsor Annual Premium Pass. I am not sure if I can visit legoland on "blocked days" - grey shaded dates on the link below:

http://www.legoland.co.uk/Plan/times/

It says Standard and Premium MERLIN Annual Passholders are not subject to exclusion dates. Does it mean Legoland Windsor Annual Premium Passholders are subject to exclusions. According to tesco website "Premium Annual Pass to LEGOLAND Windsor Resort give unlimited access for one adult OR one child OR one senior (capacity allowing) and are valid for a full 12 months (subject to operating calendar) from the date the Tokens are redeemed and exchanged for photocards at LEGOLAND." Observations from my first and last visit.

Grubby > dirty and faded lego pieces.
Wasps > lots of them, waspland.
Rides and attractions > slightly above average fairground standards.
Visitor number control > pack'em in, more the merrier.

Had free tickets and still not worth it.

I always say this when people complain about legoland, arrive early, go to the back of the park and work towards the front. You'll be first in the queue on very ride for the first few hours :-)

And they do control numbers, it was shut within an hour of opening when they had Ben 10 fireworks!

I went third week in April when the kids went back to school. It was lovely and peaceful. We managed to do the full park in a bout 3 hours. The staff were great and you could just keep going around and around on the rides without getting off. What also made me laugh was one of the ride operators asking a parent if there was an inset day because there was a large number of children in the park. She just replied "no he is off sick today"

I noticed one of the comments mentioned it. Then I googled the name and there are lots of R.I.P. threads in biker forums (I guess his other videos were bike stuff). And then there was an article or two in local papers.

You are right. May his soul rest in peace.

Went there a few years ago after dreaming about going since I was a boy and indeed before it opened (the Denmark one was the dream really). A bit grubby, not a lot there, it was hardly a land of lego, just a few models scattered around.

This deal seems OK for locals, trying to book a hotel or indeed even some leave seems almost impossible.

I'm not sure I'd pay £4 to receive some random legoland tickets that I may or may not be able to use

GOOD PRICE

Great, thanks op heat added. Got 4 lots of free Alton Towers' tickets that the sun were doing earlier in the year & every pair ended up being for a day i couldn't get off work so fingers crossed get a bit luckier here

My son got stung on his eye while we were there but the staff dealt with it very well :-)

If you don't get the day you want... Sell it on ebay, you'll only get £10-£15 as it'll be a specific date, but on the plus side you can then buy the date you want for £10-£15 (:

Initially sounds a great deal, but no good for anyone who can only do school holidays, as only 2 of the categories fall within school holidays, and the terms and conditions say that if you don't specify 4 choices they'll cancel your application.

ahh right... I feel so stupid... the society of automotive engineers... of course.

Looks as though they send you a ticket for a random day which could be a weekday so you'd have to take it off work which'd negate any cost saving

I only had enough to buy two tickets with tesco deals so went onto their site and bought online with their 40% discount for a little over £20 for a child ticket and £2 parking.
Id rather go on a day I want when the kids are off school as well. I will definitely be getting there early and starting at the back and taking my own food. I think there are lockers from what I read as I dont want to be carrying it round with me all day.

I am a bit put off by the comments that people shouldnt go and that its grubby and 'fairgroundy'
