2-hour Birds of Prey Experience at Rutland Falconry and Owl Centre £15 via Travelzoo

Found 14th Dec 2017
Travelzoo do have some really great offers on at the moment. This one will probably only appeal to those who are fairly local to the centre or who are planning to visit the area, but it would make a fab gift for someone (kid's over 6 can do the experience, mine would LOVE it)
I was lucky enough to visit a couple of years ago (didn't do the experience, just the centre) & it was a really great place, the kids had a wonderful time & got to hold a bird for a while, the staff were really knowledgeable & the walks through the woodland were stunning.

I thought £15 (normally £65) for a 2-hour Birds of Prey Experience was a bargain, I'd love to do it, but it's at least 3 times the cost where I live

What's Included

  • A 2-hour birds of prey experience with either an owl or a hawk for one
  • A short talk on your chosen bird, followed by a demonstration of how to carry it
  • An opportunity to walk with the bird on your arm around the 42-acre centre and relax in the flying field where you can sit and listen to a talk on the history of falconry
  • Valid 12pm Wed and Sun until 31 Mar, 2018

  • The centre has over 130 birds of prey, including owls, hawks, falcons, buzzards, eagles and vultures
  • You can observe deer, foxes, badgers and other species of wildlife during your walk through the woodlands

Rutland's a stones throw away & I love birds so how could I not add heat . Thank You
I love birds of prey too, wish it was closer to me. Heat added
I've done this (I live close by) and it's a great experience. The place is quite low key in terms of facilities etc. i.e. it's not in your face buy buy buy which is quite refreshing. It's full of wonderful birds and you get the choice of which one to take out in to the beautiful woods.

It's great to know your money is going to support them as a rescue centre too.
Decent place but the birds may seem a bit misererable at this time of year...who wants to be out in this weather?. The young lad who usually takes the tour is very good and knowledgeable with a bit of fun thrown in. The older chap who owns it is passionate about the birds (and the other animals they keep you from seeing on this tour), he comes across a bit like father Jack mixed with uncle Albert but if you like his dry wit it will add to your day.
What a fantastic price, what can you do for £15 nowadays?
