worthwhile getting a thicker one ,i got a cheap one last winter and after a few month it burst open and i was badly scolded ,i wouldnt use them again you would be safer with the wheat kind you heat in the microwave the only negative with them is they cool down quicker than the water bottles but def, safer
Decent ones for £4 at Tesco at the moment and they have had some with an older production date reduced to £2 (presumably because these things have a limited life).

Just found same on Amazon: amazon.co.uk/pro…s=0
This is what you call a bargain Amazeballz
When I think back to my childhood and my mother sending us to bed with a hot water bottle (not using it to pre-warm the bed for 10 minutes) it horrifies me.
A leak or inquisitive little fingers undoing the stopper and we could have been scarred for life.

I would no more buy one of these than climb into bed with a rattlesnake.
You should get a hot water bottle cover for these as well. My chemist has a furry one on display.
I prefer a lovely warm water bed, complete with heater.

It gave you a good telling off then?

This is the sort of utter drivel that come from woolly minded lefty thinking. Millions of children (including me and my sibblings) have been sent to bed with a hot water bottle and never felt the need to scald ourselves because the consequences were clearly explained by our parents. Clearly you managed to survive as well. Would you also be horrified about allowing a child to draw using a pencil because of the pointy end?

Yes, I survived my years with a hot water bottle. I also know people who lived to a ripe old age despite smoking sixty a day and people who have raised a family with a pet rottweiler in the house - that don't make either of those activities a particularly bright idea.
A very quick look on the net shows a recent increase in scaldings from hot water bottles so the risk isn't entirely imaginary is it ?
As I know people who were scalded as kids as well as someone who's child got badly scalded (although admittedly, not by hot water bottles), maybe I'm just a bit more aware of the consequences of an accident than you are.
If people have a Morrisons local to them then you can pick up hot water bottles for £2.99 with no covers (selection of colours) and £4.99 with a variety of colours

Got mine at Morrisons Leeds City Centre!
