It's such a good price originally but at 49p it's unreal they can be put everywhere, but avoid the oven X)

yes she did!

used to work at do it all

and oh yes she did!

Good find if you can get hold of one. I know you wont be able to find any in Castleford. We sold the few we had which were upstairs for at least 3 years for the same price sometime in 2013.

These can be put in bedrooms where you wouldn't normally have any, OrribleHarry strong user name X)

How do you know they will even work? could just be a sounder when you press the button...

My family are worth infinitely more than this.

Voted cold.

But if you don't have any upstairs, they definitely won't work...anyhow respect your opinion

Worse than no smoke alarm, actually

Assuming you're not a troll (which is a big assumption), there are so many things wrong with your arguments.

1) How do you know yours works? A high-tech self-diagnostic could equally be faked.
2) More expensive does not necessarily mean better quality.
3) It could be argued that a more complex unit contains more inter-dependent components and therefore is more likely to fail.

These will be extremely hard to find - been discontinued for years - surprised the branch you bought it from even had some - must of been boxed away in the corner of the stockroom for years.

P.S. I'd check that the included batteries are still in date !!

How much quality control goes into these for that price? my guess is zero...

if it makes you feel slightly better - when these were actually new (as in 5 years ago) they were sold for closer to £7. lol.

Cold . It's not a cream cake X)

^Is STATUS some cheap knock off brand? No but I'm sure these have to meet the most basic fire BS safety & C E regulations. Hell, you can buy STATUS 3 pin plugs so nothing wrong with the brand.

This is just a basic smoke alarm for a very cheap price. You can't buy 3 x 2032 batteries for that price alone.

Folks needs to get real with their high expectations.

High expectations? I'm saying you should pay MORE for quality mains powered items. Some things are not worth saving on....

As for the brand Status, I have never heard of them

Each to their own but since you sound like you're so loaded, go ahead spend what you like it's your money, not everyone is loaded so regardless cheap or expensive smoke detectors have to meet the most basic fire BS safety & C E regulations.

As you claim, quality mains powered smoke detectors will have more extra features like 24/7 monitored service, etc than OP's very basic ones.

These are ideal if you're going on holiday but don't forget to get a carbon monoxide detector too.

End of day, you pay what you get.

Very well put and thanks veedubjai

Would your insurance company cover you if there was a fire with these cheap goods, I had a fireman to fit mine free of charge as they were advertising to fit free fire alarms and supply the alarms as well.

Hoggy im glad you said that i was going to have a drive to castleford tomorrow to have a look for some

Very good deal, for something of great importance.

Loaded? far from it I just put a high priority on safety. For example I have fire rope ladders under each bed. I fitted five smoke alarms in my home that I can monitor from my phone anywhere in the world, each has 4 types of detection Inc carbon monoxide built in, those along with 4 rope ladders cost £500 all in!
Hardly a fortune and knowing my house is safe when I'm out has added peace of mind.

So hardly loaded just need to know my family is safe....
