2 months Lovefilm & 1600 Xbox Microsoft Points £4.99

sign up to lovefilm at the link (now using your amazon account). When you have made your first payment (£4.99 on Lovefilm instant) you will be sent 1600 microsoft points, and of course you can always cancel this after your first payment, so 2 months of lovefilm instant + 1600 microsoft points=£4.99.

I'm guessing this is for new customers only.
If you have sign up to lovefilm in the past via their old lovefilm account system, you should still be entitled as now it's done through your amazon account.

Decent Microsoft points deal

Hot. I'm guessing we cant get Quidco with this offer? Also, is there a minimum amount of films we have to watch to get the points? Like the Now TV offer?

Original Poster

Not that I know of. Should be every bit as simple as any lovefilm deal (eg free amazon voucher) etc etc

Actually, I could do the trial, get £20 from Quidco, buy the points and still have money to spare. Still a decent deal though

Or try both!
Maybe the code 'XB1600' is all that's needed

Nice deal for the points although unfortunately I see that they don't seem to have gotten any better since I cancelled about 6 months ago and stuck solely to Netflix.

Also I don't know why but for some reason I'm finding their website to be quite a pain to navigate, it feels rather outdated after using Netflix's site, then on top of that I'm trying to watch what I click because if I remember correctly they had it set up before where some you had to pay for and looking now I can't easily tell what's part of the package and what isn't.

I felt that about the website too. I assumed that they would have sorted it out by now, given the superior competition, but strangely no. It's a pity that so many people get reeled in by clever marketing with little substance to back it up

Do you have to a new customer cos I cancelled about a year ago

How are they for ease of cancelling? Can you do it via the site or do they make you phone them up? Heat added!

You can cancel via the website.

So just started this, when do I get the code? After 30 days or...?

Nice... Was thinking of renewing my sub anyway, so this just sweetens the deal!

I selected a different package after ordering (the £11.22 games one), so hopefully that doesn't mess things up...

You do get quidco with Amazon now...

WTF... Just realised that they don't do Wii U games at all now. Anyone know if this is due to change?...

/edit
Funnily enough they do have Wii U games, but they're kind of hidden away and can't just be selected by platform - you have to search for the specific game (or just search for "Wii U")

How soon do you get your 1600 ?

wow I posted this yesterday and it went cold

My amazon account email is different to my Xbox live one? Does it matter?

Or you could sign up for the £15 free amazon voucher deal and buy 2100 points for free (2100 points is £14.52 on Amazon)

Don't see why if it's a redeemable code that you enter on your Xbox. Email should be irrelevant.

yeah does anyone know if you can swap to a games package? I kinda assumed games are included, what with this being an Xbox deal and all...

bigdarlodave

You can cancel via the website.

But do it after the call centre closes, that way you can do it entirely on the website without any phone call. Just a couple of "are you sure" type offers, to skip past.

Signed up for 30 day free trial + £20 Quidco. Worked out better I thought.

I believe upgrading ends the free trial. Well it did when I was a member years ago.
Best give CS a call or live chat.

Says in the terms that you're allowed one package change in the trial so they must have changed it.

Thats good
I know I've been stung by that in the past.

Me being the total idiot I am, I didn't bother reading the small print when signing up. Turns out that this isn't valid for returning customers, only new ones...

On the plus side, I sent an email to customer services asking if me changing the package invalidates this deal, they told me the above but offered to extend my free trial period by an extra month

Voted hot but went with this offer instead. Doubt I'll be staying after my 2 months though as no android support. Very short sighted amazon!

It says in the description

Love film for me is a pain in the. *^#% to navigate on my laptop but using it on my kindle fire hd is so easy!

So if we get the points with our first payment... Does this mean we get them in 30 days?
Since there is a 30 free trial first?

That's what I was wondering, cant be bothered to wait 30 days

I went for the NowTV deal a few months ago, and managed to get both the Xbox points and £20 TCB. Might try it again here...

I think LoveFilm is massively improved and the XBox points make a good deal, great.

LoveFilm has a lot more content than Netflix but I find Netflix more responsive and better optimised streaming.

Heat added

will i have to wait 30 days for the code or what?

I've just done this, if I cancel now does it stop it instantly, or till the end of the 30 days + the extra month?

Vladimir

Is that using it for DVD/BRs by post or just streaming? I find lovefilm very good generally but don't use streaming at all. Am currently on a break from it while I use Netflix streaming to watch Breaking Bad but the Netflix streaming library is woeful. Is it better for sending actual discs?

EDIT: Oh, is Netflix stream only? Not worth it for me then anyway.
