I stayed at the mercure Swindon over the bank holiday and it was of a good standard. Leisure facilities were clean and tidy like our room. Dinner in the restaurant was fantastic...this deal of 114quid full board is excellent!!

It's not just full board, most of your drinks are included + other extras.

great deal

Can anyone who has been on one of these breaks comment about the free drinks? I have seen a few reviews that say it is so busy (and they put on limited bar staff) you can only get a couple.

Good deal.

Looks a great deal .... but what are you supposed to do with your children with all these hotel stays for 2 people? .... leave them at home and get arrested for neglect?!! I wish they had the common sense to include children for an appropriate supplement.

Perhaps have a relative look after them for a weekend? Remember spending many a weekend over at the grandparents for my parents to have a weekend break together. Not that difficult of a problem to over come.

You don't want to take kids on an AI break surely??

If I go on a break like this I don't want screaming toddlers in high chairs at breakfast, nor do I want to trip over remote control jeeps in the bar at night, they're clearly aiming for adults on these breaks for people with the same sentiments as myself.

You're joking right? Taking kids on an all inclusive break would be a Godsend. The amount of food and drink ours can get through in a day....

I think you have a point however there should be choices of adult exclusive and that way people can choose where they want to be. I think your remote control comment is quite frankly ridiculous though. I've never seen children with remote control anything in a bar either at night nor during the day, perhaps you're best off taking your intolerance elsewhere

Any suggestions of good places to go with this deal - either somewhere near the sea or a 'nice' city centre? Looking for a short break in October and struggling to come up with anything that won't cost an arm and leg!

My guess is they wouldn't enforce this rule unless you looked like trouble.

Have you no imagination? put them in the freezer and defrost when you return.

Spoken like a true defensive parent who believes everyone should be as tolerant of their kids as they are with their blinkers and seeming indifference to the interruptions caused to people around them, I can only repeat my previous sentiments and I'll choose to take my intolerance to this very AI break where clearly the management share my intolerance.

It's not a deal tailored to people with children, it's just a deal, what you do with your children is simply be a parent and make the right choice, I wouldn't recommend leaving them home alone, but you could freeze them and defrost upon return upon return if you're that desperate for parenting tips.

Cant knock it.

I have been to the Chester 1 and is very nice with a large swimming pool would definetly book again

just done the wigan hotel, used it as a base, was great.excellent value.
ask the staff to point you towards gallimores restaurant and bar - brilliant..

Seems a good price to me for a short break away from home

Think I'd rather have a laugh with my kids than sit around with a bunch of miserable, Daily Mail reading, nimby tightwads.

Moan, moan, moan. Kids of today. No respect. Lack of discipline. Immigrants. Health and safety gone mad. Yada, yada, yada. Rhubarb, rhubarb, rhubarb.:{

Booked cheers

I've just tried this website and can't find anything under £169 - has anyone managed to get this for £84?

its £84 pp x minimum 2 nights
hope that helps

so the cheapest available is £84 times 2 times 2 nights? £336?

the break costs £84 per person minimum 2 nights, its a minimum of 2 people, therefore £84 x 2 people = £168

Tolerance is something that is soorly missing from this world. Kids, Religion, Driving.... You name it... If people were more tollerant in this day and age we wouldnt have half the problems we've got.

The point I was trying to make was one about hotel deals in general not just this one ... everything seems to be geared "based on 2 adults sharing".... there never seem to be deals that allow children to go on a family break. In fact when you search for hotel breaks as soon as you add a child it seems that many hotels suddenly have no availability.

As for the comment about the behaviour of children I often prefer it to the ignorant attitude of some of the supposed adults you come across in hotels. I keep an eye on my son and he does behave himself and have fun at the same time.

Deal is certainly hot though and voted that way.

Sadly I'm not very "tollerant" of people that can't spell, so my tolerance must be "soorly" missing, presumably.

Voted hot!

I have 2 screaming kids and even I don't want to see screaming kids when I go on a break like this! I hope this deal is still on in about 16 years!
