15 mins drive into York, best to come through the week, avoid all the jawdies getting blotto every weekend.
Stayed here a couple of times and it’s a good hotel for the price. There are various deals for this hotel which some include credit towards your dinner on the evening. If your dining there on the evening be careful when ordering the fish and chips as it’s a huge portion.

The best way to get into York is by using the Park and Ride which is about 10-15 mins drive away leave your car then it’s around £2.80 for a return ticket. York can be a nightmare to get into the city centre if you drive all the way in

Nice hotel stayed for 4 nights on a training course properly in the middle of no where but the food was top notch worth it just for the eating. In the week it’s full of oap bus holidays So it quite peacef

40 minutes to York outlet using the ring road
Lokks a very nice deal I like York, except when it floods.
Stayed here many times whilst on training. Beware, phone reception is shicht. Otherewise a good stay. Get a visit to the bird of prey centre adjoining the hotel.
We did this last year, they do their own deals as well on their website. Had a fab time, we chose the dinner vouchers and had the cream tea too. The bird of prey centre next door is excellent
We have stayed here a number of time and always have a great stay.

Also if you like cats, thye have about 20 of them at the back of the hotel, which my daughter loves seeing them when we go.

Yeah cos that’s what GEORDIES do, travel 80 miles to York when they have a far superior City of their own to get ‘blotto’ in every weekend!

I was thinking the same, quite close to Howardian hills which may be worth an explore, never been myself though

As someone who lives 5 mins from the hotel I can advise it's very close to the Howardian Hills, Sutton Bank etc. Great Chinese and pub (Mended Drum) just down the road in Huby too.

They still do though, you know. It's only about 40mins on the train and a nice change of scenery. Not as good a night out though of course.
Best Western? I'd rather sleep in a skip
Is it possible to book with two young children
Might see if our Kez is up for this

York is gradually opening. Expect it will be fully open by the end of the month, and given the range of dates you can book for I don't see this being an issue

Of course. They already have bans for drunken hooliganism in their own town.
Is that £79 p/p?

York is tedious ,full of ye olde tourist faux pubs and eateries ,charging not so ye olde prices for the privilege.
Dreadful place .
We've done this exact deal three times. Bird of prey centre is small but packed full of birds, guys that work there are a right laugh, definitely worth going in as it's literally at the end of the hotel car park. Hotel is fairly basic but clean and has a decent evening menu and plenty of breakfast buffet options.
I live not too far from here, decent hotel about 10 minutes drive from York Park and ride. 20 minutes city parking. Advice use the Park and Ride next to York ring road A19. The Bird of prey centre is excellent and well worth a visit.
