Groupon’s Guide To BudapestBudapest, the vibrant capital of Hungary, is a living picture of castles and Neo-Gothic grandeur by day, and a pulsating example of European nightlife by night.

Guests may take a stroll to the historic Lajos Kossuth Square, which plays host to Hungary’s coronation crown and ornate Parliament Building, as well as the Museum of Ethnography’s folk art displays. After admiring the crown, similar treasures may be found in the City Park, where an enormous flea market brightens up weekends with knick-knacks, clothes and much more, amid grandly landscaped environs. Pocket-dipping sessions may follow with a plunge into the thermal spas of Margaret Island, which complements its riverbank surroundings with fragrant gardens, ornate pavilions and parties of sunbathing locals.

The climate in Budapest is continental and humid, with very warm summers and, at times, cold winters. During the hot season, which starts in April and ends in August, the temperature reaches an average of 27ºC. In this period, travellers may take nighttime strolls on the Danube promenade, or enjoy refreshing tipples at one of the city’s open-air bars. During the colder seasons, the nights get chillier, but holidaymakers will still be able to explore the city sights under favourable weather conditions until late October. Winter arrives in December and lasts till February, bringing negative temperatures and less than two hours of sunshine per day.

Would be great if Groupon can offer these trip as solo...
Budapest is a great city. Far exceeded my expectations when I visited a couple of years ago. +1 for the pinball museum too. Looks dodgy from the outside (and inside too to be fair !) but well worth a visit. I had the place to myself for almost 2 hours.

Sounds like this one solved itself! Have a lovey time in Budapest @Super.Noob and @rhaegox
As a Buddhist I simply can not go there as the city name is derogatory to my beliefs.

It would be useful to know where the flights fly from...
If it helps others, it's from London (of course), Bristol, Liverpool and Manchester.

A very confusing way to show available days.

I too have no one to go with and whenever these deals come up it's always a minimum of two people. Shame because it looks really good.
Comes up as £358 for two nights for two from Bristol.

Must be doing something wrong.
Should be able to get a week for that. :/
please proide additional information. I am unable to get the prices quotes in this deal. Where are the flights from what dates?

£400+ from Manchester for 2nights.
It's a bit crappy that you can't see the flight times before booking. I can just see them leaving late at night and coming back early in the morning so you only get the equivalent of 1 day there

It's always a RIP off as a solo traveller. You will find it cheaper booking flights and hotels separately though a bit more hassle.
Hotel has some concerning reviews..
Small Print:

Excluded city tax 3.39% of the room rate per person per night, payable to the hotels directly.

Prices may therefore be a little more in the end.

Code takes off 15% instead of 25? 👀
Obviously a great price but this is concering.

"Depending on flight schedules and transfers, the first or the last night might not be entirely spent in the hotel. Flight departure points, dates and hours are subject to availability and cannot always be guaranteed. Supplements may apply if busy dates get overbooked and you must always purchase the Groupon Voucher first.!
As a Buddhist I simply can not go there as the city name is derogatory to my beliefs.
I've looked at many of these deals and very nearly purchased them, but I've always been put off by the lack of upfront information on flight times. You might well be getting 2 nights, but it's not so good if you get there at 9pm on Day 1 and have a flight home at 10am on Day 3. No way would I pay (even at these really low prices) without knowing that basic level of information.
Budapest is a great city however 2 nights is really not long enough! We spent 4 days there and didn’t manage to get everything done and we do things quickly! Completed New York in 3 days!
Budapest is a great city to visit. Just avoid the Golden Park Hotel if you go...

I am trying to look for someplace in Europe to go solo too. But I fear I'm running out of options as everything is expensive as I've left it so late and intending to go next week. Fml

Just ordered the 4 nights in December flying out from Bristol, hopefully all goes well. Does anyone know if there is much in the way of Christmas markets in Budapest?
Quidco is offering 15%, although probably cashback will be declined as a voucher is being used

I said this one one of the other deals, but we completely fell in love with the city when we went last May, and came back with friends a couple of months later and have just booked a third visit (this time hiring a car and spending some time at Lake Balaton). It's easily my favourite European city, with loads of things to do - in fact I'd agree with another poster that 2 days isn't long enough as we still have stuff on our to-do list after 2 separate weeks there.

The pinball museum is excellent isn't it, and I can thoroughly recommend the Red Jet speedboat trips on the Danube, which are nothing like your usual speedboat trips I've done in the past, instead being packed with high speed stunts on the water (insane 360s at speed and abrupt nosedives down in the water which get you absolutely drenched but are like nothing else I've experienced).

It's a great value city too so you can eat and drink really well for half the cost of going out in most major cities and the transport network is excellent.

One trip I have been thinking about is Gothenburg - Stockholm for a few summery days, and then get the Night Train Sleeper .to Nervik in Norway, which is in The Arctic Circle. 18 hours on the sleeper, and it's only about £150 return, wake up to some.sepctacular scenery

I've heard that the Christmas markets in Budapest are amazing. I hope you enjoy yourself
Not specifically related to this deal but is Groupon any good?. The only time I used it was to get a deal on Water Park entry. Only 'up front' info said the voucher was valid for a month ( this was just before Easter Holidays a couple of years back). So I registered, ordered etc and only then would it let you look at availability and it turned out there was no availability at all for the Easter Holidays and only a couple of week days for any other time within the months validity - which was useless as they were school days. I then had to go through the refund process. Absolute waste of time so thought 'never again' - but is it always that bad?.

So booked the holiday:

Bought voucher for the 10/12/19
- They had no availability so had to fly 16/12/19 with Ryanair
- The flights were going to come in at 11pm, and leave at 6am so paid for a change.
- They charged an additional £12 for these amendments
- Paid for an upgrade to a 4* hotel, but now sadly realise its next to a very busy road.

Probably could have now got the package cheaper just going direct via Expedia etc.

Yeah, I have read before that these deals with groupon are rubbish and can be done cheaper/better by doing the booking yourself.
