String of Horses Inn, Heads Nook, Cumbria - has some of the best reviews I've seen on review sites

  • This traditional coaching inn dates back to the 1600s and boasts buckets of rustic charm, including open fires, log panelling and local food and drink
  • It's just outside the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, less than a 30-minute drive from Gretna Green, the Roman site of Birdoswald and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Hadrian's Wall
  • Carlisle city centre, with its cathedral and medieval castle, is 20 minutes away by car

How to Book:

Purchase a voucher from Travelzoo then call the hotel directly at 01228 670297 to make a reservation for your desired travel dates. Reservations are subject to availability and early booking is encouraged. It is not possible to check in on Mondays, but Mondays can be included in a 2-night stay commencing on a Sunday. What makes you say that? Reviews seem good. Appreciate your help
I'm left wondering why its necessary to faff around with the third party company to get the deal rather than just have an easy route that doesn't involve potentially getting a voucher, finding out your dates then aren't available and having to claim a refund.

Couldn't they just have made an arrangement to feed them commission for anyone phoning with a time-limited code or something?

(Heat given btw)

What are you comparing Cumbria to? Andalucía? or perhaps something closer to home, like Greater London?
