A great day out at Wimpole Hall. Essentially free parking! £2 parking cost is taken off your shop or café bill! A great place to walk in the grounds and use the café (both free), perfect for a picnic as the weather warms!

How is this a deal? Also the cafe is free? Are you sure?

Allow me to explain:

If you present your parking ticket to the cashier in the shop or cafe, then you will receive a one-time discount of £2.

Many shopping centres, for example, run a parking validation scheme, so I'm surprised you're unfamiliar with this.

According to OP the cafe is free

But parking is free at most National Trust sites, so not a deal, just normal SOPs.

I think parking is only free at national trust properties and parks if you are a member.

National trust parking only free if you're a member . Otherwise it's usually very expensive

I mean that the parkland and café can be entered for free ie without paying to enter the property/gardens or farm.

National trust parking is usually expensive and only free for members.

Also the National trust do a drinks loyalty scheme so collect ten stamps and you get your next drink for free.

Shugborough Estate is NOT free even though you are a National Trust member, nor is Parkhurst Place .. Very greedy!

Also, I think Wimpole Hall charges again if you want to go to the farm.. Some NT properties charge for admission to gardens and Tatton Park also charges £5 for parking. Quite a nasty surprise!

Wimpole finally stopped charging members for farm entry earlier this year.
