I was going to buy the £21.99 one from Halfords
http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/2-tonne-trolley-jack-21-99-halfords-1434586

but I've now purchased this one instead.

No case with it, but reading comments on the Halfords deal, the three year warranty at Lidl is better value

I picked up one today together with axle stands. Good quality plus that all importany 3year guarantee. They were going fast

Could of done with this when I had a puncture this morning, would have saved me scraping my freezing cold purple knuckles of the icy concrete as I wound my crappy little scissor jack up.

For some strange reason, this jack wasn't listed in the Lidl Thurs 17th Jan leaflet or e-mailed offers

The axle stands were but there won't be many Lidl customers pre-aware of this offer so it should be available for a while

These are "OK" but the rear wheels can buckle as mine has. They don't go immediately so no danger but they gradually bend over the years of use mine had. To be fair I am an enthusiastic DIYer and used it more than most would, since upgraded to something sturdier but good enough for doing brakes and general stuff

That's why I'm amazed that Lidl offer a 3 year warranty on this product because rear wheels bending must be covered by the warranty and - with constant use - you would expect it might to happen

They probably rely on the fact that most people will hardly use them, and some people won't be bothered to take them back.

I got one of these last time. Been meaning to return it - the handle's too short and very poorly made - far too much slack. Spend a little more and get something more up to the job.

I'll keep the Lidl receipt - just in case

Purchasing online - and changing - my own brake pads/shoes will be a lot easier with this jack and save me £300 on the cheapest local garage quote

It's worth £20 for that alone but I won't be tackling a new engine just yet!

You can't lose anyway. If you're not sure, purchase the jack before they sell out and return it within 28 days for a full refund if you don't like it

To be fair, mine is coming on probably ten years old, it started to bend probably around 3 to 4 ago when I go my bigger jack. No complaints at all at the price though, as I said ideal for doing your brake pads etc. Just I had mine car up on the jack every weekend when I was detailing crazy and doing all manner of upgrades on my car. Not so much any more.

hi there, i want to purchase this but i cant seem to find a way to purchase on the Lidl website. my closest store i Blackburn.

I've seen a lot of jacks have issues with the rear wheels - they only take a fraction of the load, but using them on slopes or with unbalanced loads can increase it. They shouldn't bend.

My Lidl jack from a long time ago has been excellent. A friend bought a later one, and the handle was really small compared to the hole, so every stroke had a lot of wasted movement.

You can't purchase from Lidl online - their website is just a catalogue for the stores and you won't know if the item is in stock until you turn up there.

You also have to pay by cash or DEBIT card as - in England - Lidl still don't accept credit cards.

The benefit is that if you take something back within 28 days your money is refunded instantly

I know what you mean.

Maybe I should turn my hand to erotic fiction.

Fifty shades of Jack

Just bought one from the Balham Lidl. Had 3 left. I like how the handle can be pumped from any angle. I do work on my car on the road so means I can turn the handle to avoid the kerb. Shame no box though to store it in but will sling it in the attic or under the bed when not in use.

They still have four of these left in Newhaven Lidl

Bought one at Lidl in Reading *Oxford Road".

Still four left there.
