Really good deal for all dog lovers who feed their dogs on this food. Can only vouch for my dog who loves this stuff. Price like all others have been increasing but using a series of deals you can have this delivered to your door for just £18 a bag ( as long as you buy 2).
Pets at home have a deal on the Bacon & Liver and the Lamb & Rice varities which are 2 bags for £40 (normally £21.50 each). If you opt for free delivery, this kicks in at £30, so just add the 10% discount code(AJ557P) at checkout & this comes to grand total of £36 delivered. Great deal in my opinion.

While a good deal can be measured in price it can't be measured in quality, this food is so bad! Take alook at what they put in it. And read reviews about it.

Can't believe the price of this stuff, it's not cheap yet it's so rubbish!

Do your dog a favour and give it something else.

For just a couple of quid more (currently selling at £19.66 for a 15kg bag), try this stuff instead: Skinners Field and Trial Duck and Rice.

It's not the best quality like Acana and Orijen, but for the price, it's streets ahead of anything you get in the supermarket.

Haven't voted because it may be the cheapest around, and that's the point of the site.

But my god this food is the worst of the worst. Awful, awful, awful. I can't stress it enough. It's like feeding your kids on nothing but smarties. I truly can not believe they're allowed to charge for this utter garbage, or call it a dog 'food'

If anyone wants a better food for the same cash, or has a budget, feel free to pm me and I'll tell you the best food available for your cash. Berriewoods have 2 bags of salmon autarky for £32 delivered. Worlds better than this crud.

*sits and waits for people to say it's a great food and their dog 'thrives' on it*

Hey guys, as I said my dog loves it, he's had the choice of many brands from supermarket to more exotic etc oer the years & yes he likes this. Sorry to dissapoint you may be my dogs just got bad taste eh!!! Just another point, I've used this website for some years now & it's been excellent at finding deals for items that I want to buy eg saving me money. I think thats the point of it really, but recently it seems to be used for people to vent their personnal likes or dislikes, nothing wrong with free speech, but it really turns people off, just the deals guys, just the deals. If you find cheeper great, tell us

thats great , other wise we just don't need your wise ass remarks.

My dog loves the bakers meaty meals - picks through the food to find those first.

He likes a good battery egg, followed by breast meat from a caged chicken.

I think it's because he is a dog he has a small conscience and a huge appetite.

He loves chocolate as well ("shock horror !gasp! you're killing him" etc).

Been Feeding Harvey (cavalier king Charles) wagg for 5 years and is fine, he used to have bakers but he piled the weight on.

It's naff all to do with consious, battery egga etc

It's that the food is awful, your dog will like it because it's packed with aditives to make it extra tasty for him.

Look at the ingredients.

Cereals, Meat and animal derivatives (minimum 4% chicken beef and minimum 4% fresh meat in the soft moist kernel), Vegetable protein extracts, Derivatives of vegetable origin (1.1% charcoal in the dark brown kernel), Oils and fats, Various sugars, Minerals, Yeasts, Vegetables (minimum 4% vegetables in the green kernel). Contains EC permitted colourants, antioxidants and preservatives.

So, some unknown cereals, flavoured with 4% eyelashes and bum holes, preserved in god knows what (bakers isn't allowed to be fed to dogs who around animals that will end up in the food chain, because of the preservatives). Yummy. I couldn't care less where they came from, fact remains, that's an appalling diet for a dog.

In all honestly, I couldn't give a toss what you feed your dog, you could feed it actual crap for all I care. It's your dog. But don't convince yourself you're A) giving your dog a good diet. B) Not being ripped off.

Fact is, you can get much better for the same or less. And since this is a money saving site, I'm pointing that out. You know, for those who actually care what they feed their pets.

Yes, which I why I put that I didn't vote because it may be the cheapest, which is the point to the site.

"Haven't voted because it may be the cheapest around, and that's the point of the site"

If you want to raise the moral highground it is best not to contradict yourself so people will take you more seriously

So what is cheaper and better then and why arn't you posting the deals if you are so serious i trying to make people feed other foods th their animals.

If you love your dog or even like it just a tiny bit, please don't feed this industrial waste to it. It's fwcing garbage and I wouldn't feed it to someone I hated.

You can get better foods for less, can you get bakers for less? I have no idea. The deal is for bakers. It's called staying on topic.

I posted one food that is much better food a few £ less. There are others. But why list them? When people such as yourself are more interested in being facetious than feeding their dogs a even half way decent diet.

Why am I not posting? Because they're not on offer, they're just cheaper, people don't tend to post things that are their usual price. And I honestly couldn't care who takes me seriously and who doesn't, ingredients speak for themselves.

Please tell me how calling crap dog food crap, and wanting my dogs do eat a decent diet is taking the moral high ground?

My dog would happily run all day at the thought of a lovely bum hole to eat at the end of it.

He's a dog - he'd eat me if I was dead. Bum hole first probably.

You don't actually back up your "appalling" claim with any evidence - just your opinion.

Pontification is so easy on here - I'm going to have a go later.

You recommend autarky - while bakers is 3% higher in oils than this brand it is also 6% higher in protein. What makes up the other 6% in your recommended brand?
Edited by: "worthinger" 30th Oct 2011

The ingredients speak for themselves, what do I need to back up? Or do you actually believe the above ingredients list is a good diet choice? I honestly thought the human race had moved passed that level of stupidity *shrugs*. If it's not too much effort (I mean, it's only for your dog), google bakers ingredients or review. I assume all those are my opinion too.

Honestly, feed your dog on nothing but bum holes, I couldn't give a toss, share them with him since you feel so attached. I'm happy your being ripped off for those bum holes too tbh. My dogs get proper food with their bum holes. Excuse me for caring what they eat.

No, actually, I'm wrong - autarky chicken is higher in fat than bakers and lower in protein.

Bakers:

Ingredient(s):

Cereals, Meat and Animal Derivatives (min. 4% Fresh Meat in the Soft Moist Kernel), Vegetable Protein Extracts, Oils and Fats, Derivatives of Vegetable Origin (0.5% Beet Pulp in the Natural and Brown Kernels), Various Sugars, Minerals, Vegetables (min. 4% Vegetables in the Green and Yellow Kernels). with Antioxidants, Coloured with and Preserved with EC Additives.

Typical Analysis:

Moisture 10.5%, Protein 23%, Oils and Fats 10%, Fibre 3%, Ash 7%.

Autarky:

Ingredients:
Maize, chicken meat meal, rice, chicken fat, green vegetables, carrots, whole linseed, prairie meal, yeast, herbs, spices, seaweed, yucca extract, with EC permitted antioxidants: mixed tocopherols, vitamin C and rosemary extract

Analysis:

Protein: 22%
Fibre: 3%
Oil: 12%
Ash: 6.5%

Not a lot in it.

He's a dog.

Your dog understands you, doesn't he?

"Proper food" - rotting carcasses scavenged from the larger predators on the plain? Must be interesing joining you and "fido" on a walk.

I did refer to autarky salmon, it's maize free.

Yeah, on the rotting animal they'll eat more than the bum holes, they'll eat meat, offal. IE not just derivatives.

Salmon (min 35%), rice (min33%), oats, chicken fat, yeast, full-fat linseed, alfalfa, prairie meal, peas, unmolassed beet pulp, dicalcium phosphate, mannanoligosaccharides, milkthistle, marigold, mnettle, seaweed, blackcurrantextract, carrot, yucca extract, thyme, beetroot, tomato, peppermint, fennel, paprika, turmeric, dandelion, ginger, fenugreek, roesmary extract, oregano and aloe vera(min 0.4% herbs, min 4% vegetables).

Wish my dog did understand me, I'd get more sence than I do out of idiots like you. As I said, feed what you want. You're convinced you're right. I'll leave you to your ignorance.

Once it gets personal the arguments lost.

You're obsessed with bumholes as well.

I think most dogs have bad taste, I know mine eats any rubbish he can find in the park! Seriously though, it's like kids, most of them would love to eat a McDonald's Happy Meal for dinner every day, doesn't mean they should though.

As for the deal, I didn't make any comment on the deal itself, nor did I vote either way.
I just agreed with the general opinion that Bakers dog food isn't very good quality, and listed a better alternative at a similar price. It's nothing personal, not having a go at your deal, just giving some information that will hopefully be useful to fellow dog owners.

For anyone that's interested, check out Dog Food Analysis.

Thanks for posting.............I'm sure you wonder why you bother sometimes! My dog loves this too and after 12 years is showing no ill effects .

Keep feeding your kids McDonalds 24/7, I'm sure they'll look fine as well.

My dog suffers a skin allergy and having tried him on a dozen different foods over the last four years it transpires not only does he like bum hole bakers but its the only thing that doesn't exagerate his rash further. Cheap maybe, full of **** maybe but hes happy and sleeps at night so go bakers I say. Just for the record as well, ofal is the primary target for the head of any dog pack and a sign of alpha status so ofal is what natural selection offers to the most successful canines in the wild as best for them but then what does mother nature know the arrogant bitcv bitch.
