This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:

£7 per 6 pack but of course you would be mad not to add a couple of quid to that and get an extra pack!

Seems like an excellent deal to me. 12 x 330ml cans of this rather lovely dark ale for 9 quid. Works out at £1.29/pint!

6.5% ABV as well so drink it responsibly, people!

Nice review

Product Description
  • Beer
  • Aroma: Toffee and raisins
  • Taste: Toffee malt combined with dried fruit for a complex richness

  • "The Hens''
  • ... collection is an exceptional brood of award-winning English beers. What makes them so special? Several things. Respect for tradition: a Master Brewer with an understanding of his art that is second to none... balanced by the right amount of curiosity and creativity so things never stand still. In short, a man with a spring in his step. Secondly, the quality of our malt and hops, the key to a great flavour. Third, our own chalk well, source of water used for brewing for many generations... and trust us, the water matters. All this brings heritage and craft together in the most divine manner - four Hens, four singular characters: Speckled, Hoppy, Crafty and Golden, which means the perfect flavour to suit any mood, occasion or palate.
  • Elegance and mystery in one. Enjoy the best of both worlds, with this ingenious rare blend of Old Speckled Hen with the legendary Old 5x. Our Master Brewer has created a premium, vintage oak-aged beer, which delivers a variety of sophisticated tastes. The marvellous 5x is matured in 100-barrel oak vats, bringing resonance and depth, and an eruption of fruity, raisin notes which is underscored by the malt and toffee.

  • Dark & malty
  • From our oak-aged vintage 5x

  • Pack size: 330ml

It's a great deal (for those who like it) but personally I would disagree as both this and kinggoblin both taste strongly of alcohol , which a decent strong ale (imo old Tom or 1698) shouldn't ....it tastes to me like they took a nice bottle of old speckled hen and poured in some cleaning alcahol

Err, no it isn't :/ Even with NUS discount that deal is still considerably more expensive per litre/pint.

Ha! Yes, got my maths upside down Good spot!
Cheers OP, I'm off to Tesco later, this is my favorite ale although I do like the occasional Old Tom too!
A cracking supermarket ale, well worth this price. Don't think you'd find much else as good as this on most supermarket shelves.
This is miles ahead of old tom imho
