Good discount on ludicrously overpriced branded salt but given there is nothing special about salt the discount to around 50p a kilo makes it much the same price as supermarket own brand salt always is.

I thought this yet Tesco’s own didn’t work as well - I thought it would be the opposite because the granules were smaller so potentially more surface area to contact with water and dissolve plus more used per wash.

Sadly, not the case and so I went back to Finish.

Last time I bought these 2x 5Kg bags from Amazon, it was £5.71 after S&S so this is a great price.

Voted hot and ordered!

Interesting, I've only used Asda's version and found no difference, assumed it all came from the same place like 95% of the stuff in the supers.

I’ve not tried Asda’s so thanks for the tip
I’ve tried cheap supermarket stuff and currently using this to compare - for some reason the salt light comes on way more frequently than it does when I put the cheap versions of dishwasher salt in Using Finish I’m finding I have to top the salt up every few days

Only problem I've had with supermarket own brand dishwasher salt is I've bought the odd pack in the past that has not been pure salt, but actually contained the same additives you find in table salt, like anti-caking agents, listed in the ingredients, which you are not supposed to use in a water softener unit as they damage it, so ended up throwing those out, so have got in the habit of reading the ingredients before wasting my money, even though I haven't seen any with additives for a while.

Aldi and Lidl do cheap boxes of dishwasher salt with large flakes or granules if that is what you prefer, only difference I've found is large crystals sink better so a bit less gets wasted when I pour it in the water in the salt tank.

Thanks for the tip - will check out Lidl because it’s close enough

Expired, up to £3.36 / 5Kg bag.

Looks like it was a price match of Morrisons though so might still be available there:
