FWIW I'd contact Richer Sounds as they claim to "guarantee to beat web prices, voucher codes, and any bundle deals. Our Price Beat is even valid for 7 days after purchase" - which should get you the difference back plus £10: richersounds.com/inf…eat

Sometimes they're a bit funny about it because not many places offer a 6 year guarantee but since Smart Home Sounds do I can't see how they can avoid it. In theory that makes it £318 at RS... not bad

Fair enough - Smart Home Sounds are relatively local to me so I have even collected from their office and showroom as well as having a few items delivered. They come highly rated on many of the review sites too.

Thanks, I will
Just used this. Thanks very much and have some heat!
Anyone hooked these up with a Beam only i.e. no sub? Any good?

Not a beam, but I have them paired with a Sonos playbar before later adding a sub. IMO the surround sound the pairing bring is worth it (pre-sub) and combined with, the somewhat expensive but worth it sub, take it to another level. I also have a pair, as a stereo pair, in my kitchen and love it.

I have 2 play ones I use as rears when I’m watching movies and it sounds great. Any other time I think there’s someone in the house 😳 I put my play ones in different rooms for music.
Vs getting a standard echo, is it just these would have better sound quality?
I have a brand new unopened Sonos one 2nd gen speaker for sale if anyone is interested?
No comparison to an Echo as not in the same league for sound quality hence the price difference. The Alexa part is just the same if that’s what your after.

Standard echo has all the Alexa features. Sonos is missing lots. And glitchy when they do work. Check reviews.
Sound quality is far superior though so ups and downs.

No the Alexa part is nowhere near as good.
I can't ask for a radio station, can't ask for one of my tidal playlists, no calling other echo's and loads of other skills missing.
Does turn my lights on/off.
Check reviews
Sonos support is non existent.
Superior sound quality.
Terrible smart features.

How much are you looking for it

Yep, I’ve got that set up in my bedroom. ‘‘Tis great.

Just a note. I’ve bought a few Sonos speakers from SmartHomeSounds. Never had a problem buying from them. Really quick service, never needed to try the 6 year guarantee thankfully.
Can get these on FB marketplace for about £100 if you keep checking. For me the Play 5 second gens are the sweet spot and you can get them for £200 often. I'd rather have a separate echo device than have it built into the sonos, we have an echo in every room anyway for home automation or reminders/timers/intercom.
Thanks for putting this in mate I wouldve missed it otherwise

I've got the older models linked to the Beam upstairs and same setup with playbase downstairs. I'd say the base isn't worth the extra unless you have a big house. I never listen above half volume on movies on either setup and very happy and loud! Been eyeing up the sub but even at 20% off very sent me can't justify it as her enough bass in a 5.0 setup. In short these add an extra layer of experience to the Beam. One thing to bear in mind is there are less mounting choices for these models then the older 1s but colours will match. Also the Alexa/Google assistant only works on the beam on a 5.0.
Also just a side note. Anyone who lives in the Google Home world not Alexa. Go into your Sonos account. Change your location to United States (only have to do last bit of address). You can then setup Google assistant on these. Then change address back.
Thanks
Code isn’t valid when I try. Is anyone else having issues or am I being an idiot?

They refunded £20 but not the extra £10 because they said the advertised price is £348 but £20 is £20. I had a £20RS gift card so essentially cost me £308. Cheers

I do and I've since added the sub too. It's pretty decent even without the sub - a good option if you want the wireless and music streaming features as well as home theatre. Sonos is highly dependent on your TV and wireless equipment to work seemlessly though. If you have space and can handle the wiring, go for a full home theatre setup.

Good to know for the future; I also had a £20 RS gift card I probably wouldn’t have spent otherwise which is also a big reason why I went with RS but just gave them a call and they matched £328 (£308 with my goft card)so no loss in the end.

I called RS too and they said they will refund the £20 on to my card as soon as my speakers have left the warehouse. So assuming that goes through, great customer service from RS.
I think I saw those speakers for 275 in Costco 2 pack

Agree with all of this. Took mine back, just didn’t work very well although sounding pretty good considering the size of it.
Got mine after ordering yesterday, top service from smart home sounds
