Was in my local Tesco and they are doing various trees including Bay or Olive trees for £15 each or 2 for £20. Seems a good price. Can't find it online so not sure if national but worth a look.

They also have hanging baskets for £4.99.

Had them IN St Helens yesterday also....
I was gutted as I bought 2 bay trees last week from Lidl for £20 each similar size, only difference is the Lidl ones had the spiral stems.
Woulda been happy with the straight ones though.

I have just got 2 from the Southend Store - but they were £20.00 each not 2 for £20.00 - mind you still a bargain they are nearly 6ft
Only olive at £20 each. Anyone found a bay? Post the location please. Even on Ebay - Bay goes for £30+. Some horrible seconds at 5 quid..

but would these survive a cold winter or are they small enough for indoors? Could do with a bay tree as a pack of leaves that I have to buy cost me £1 every month!

Not quite sure what the point of an olive tree is in this country as doubt you would get a decent crop from it.

Mother in law has a bay tree that she has had for years .. outside ... and has always coped with frosts and snow without a problem. Agree with your sentiments as we get through a lot of bay leaves so worth it for this alone! Had looked into them before and usually pretty pricey for a decent specimen so will have to go investigate (and buy) ... thank OP heat added!

all looked very healthy and about 4 feet tall so may have to get one

they go for about £40 each on ebay so may get two bay trees and stick one on there for local pickup! oO

My mom has a bush!!!!!! In her garden, and during winter, wraps it in garden fleece to prevent frost from killing it.

Technical question, will one of these support a partridge? I'm thinking of Christmas presents and keen to keep costs down....
