Was in my local Asda's in Glasgow today and they're doing quite a few beer deals.

All of these were £7 each:

20 275ml bottles of Coors Light
18 300ml bottles of Kronenbourg
15 300ml bottles of Budweiser
8 568ml bottles of Bulmers
15 440ml cans of Foster's
15 440ml cans of Tennent's

I think there were more, but these were the ones that caught my eye.

Don't mean to be a party pooper but I thought the Govt. were trying to get supermarkets not to sell cheap beer/booze. Good deal if you like your beer.

Was shocked to see the prices so low, was even more shocked to see the shelves full of all of these varieties of alcoholic beverages!!

So I guess Asda are going to be the first to delay any proposals and turn a blind eye to any new legislation. it's all about turnover/profits for these big chains. But then again at these prices makes you think what their cost prices is and what kind of money they are making. On the other hand also makes you think how much profit bars and pubs make, 300-400% IMO (minimum).

Went to ASDA gateshead.

4pm Picked Dry :

its 8 pound in asda just back

Absolutely true mate. Always pandering to some minority or the other.

The Cheif Medical Officer recommended a 50p tax per until of alcohol (or something like that) the other week but the government ignored it. Too many votes to be lost.

I picked up 18 bottles of Kronenbourg a few days ago in ASDA for £8 and discovered they were out of date by a month when I got them home, so check the date. I still drank 10 of them last night, tasted fine.

Your doing too much thinking. Chill out and have a beer

I got 4 cases yesterday but I have a feeling the deal expired yesterday.

They probably don't make much, if any, money on these, the offers get people into the store, which means they'll likely spend money on other things

Not showing up online so I take it this is in store only? Might pop over later if it's still on

Not on anymore, must have been a weekend only offer, boohoo x

Can anyone else confirm if this is now expired?

Just been into asda at middlebrook horwich, they all seem to be £10.

2 for £15 in Tesco though so there will probably be an offer later in the week

It doesn't matter how much the alcohol costs when the goverment just gives people who are to lazy to work the money to buy the booze.

I was in asda @ chesser in edinburgh last night and these were still £7.

Job seekers allowance in the UK is certainly not enough to live on let alone buy alcohol.
