I haven’t quite figured out if you need to buy one product to get 20% off another or if you can simply claim 20% off your initial purchase but 20% off doesn’t look too bad. It seems to be on products purchased from Monday onwards.

"In order to participate in this promotion, you must have received your unique code from Sonos and purchased a qualifying product from a Sonos authorised retailer during the Promotion Period."

Looks like it is only for those who have received a unique Sonos code?

1st step in claiming the cashback is to enter the unique code Link

You'll need a unique discount code (assume part of an email promotion) in order to claim the discount
I think you submit your receipt to get the code
You can claim the cashback for purchases from various high street stores and the following online:

So if I ordered two Sonos One’s from one of those retailers for £349 I should then receive a code to claim ~£70 back? Or have I got this completely ass about face
It reads like. Go buy a Sonos and then come here to get 20% back. Incredible offer if so

That's how I've read it. So tempted...
It says nothing about the two Sonos Ones for £349 that a lot of places are doing. I worry that Sonos will say something along the lines of “sorry no cashback, you already had an offer when purchasing”

I dont think you would. If you look at the T&C it states if purchased as part of another promotion you wouldnt qualify:

The PromotionParticipants may use a discount code received from Sonos (the “Discount Code”) to receive 20% off their purchase on sonos.com or Sonos-operated store, or to receive a 20% Cashback Reward (a “Cashback Reward”) for purchases made from Sonos Authorized Retailers either online or in store (“Third Party Retailers”), subject to the Terms and Conditions (collectively, the “Promotion”).The Promotion applies to Qualifying Products only (as defined below). Qualifying Products purchased as part of another promotion are specifically excluded from this Promotion.Discount Codes are one-time use only.Purchases from non-authorized Sonos resellers are not eligible for this Promotion
Oh, I like this bit. Look at the part where it says "may receive":

TermEligible Participants may receive 20% off their purchase of Qualifying Product(s) on sonos.com or at a Sonos store or from a Participating Retailers made within two (2) weeks of the first date of notification by e-mail from Sonos of the Promotion, or such longer period as may be extended by Sonos in its sole discretion (the “Promotion Period”).
Makes the play bar and sub tempting...
can't help but think that there's something a little off about the url and the website look... the whois information about the official sonos website and this "offer" website are two completely different people! the "welcome" website is run by a promotions company, so it may just be my paranoia! i'm keeping my fingers crossed

This looks a bit phishy 🐟

Very confusing promotion, Richard Sounds Ireland have commented on this thread but seems to imply discount is on second purchase. There also seems to be a cap on the discount.

Agreed. Just done some research and found the same. Shame, looked like an awesome deal at first. Still good if you have a unique code!

It does not say that.
It says enter your unique code and supply your receipt etc.
So no code no discount.
That's the way I read if.
Hope this helps.

Only if you have a code.
Or.....If you know anyone that works for Virgin group they get 20% off Sonos up front using their "Tribe" discount. I know its a bit niche, but the group does employ quite a large number of people.

I’m reading it as you make one purchase. Submit that with receipt and then they give you a code to get 20% off a second purchase. It isn’t explained very well though.
Maximum discount is £160. I can't ascertain whether multiple purchases are allowed.

Codes can only be used once.

According to the terms and conditions -

Section 1 - You either get the code from an email received from Sonos or from your retailer.

Quote -

Participants may use a discount code received from Sonos (the “Discount Code”) to receive 20% off their purchase on sonos.com or Sonos-operated store, or to receive a 20% Cashback Reward (a “Cashback Reward”) for purchases made from Sonos Authorized Retailers either online or in store (“Third Party Retailers”), subject to the Terms and Conditions (collectively, the “Promotion”).

This is contradicted by Section 5 (particularly 5c) which states

To be eligible to participate in the Promotion (an “Eligible Participant”) you must (a) be an individual of legal age in your jurisdiction of residence, (b) be an end user customer, (c) have received an email from Sonos regarding the Promotion within one-hundred (100) days of your first purchase of Qualifying Product(s), and (d) reside in one of the following countries: Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Norway, the Netherlands, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, the United States (the “Participating Countries”).

Section 9 also contradicts Section 1

Eligible Participants may receive 20% off their purchase of Qualifying Product(s) on sonos.com or at a Sonos store or from a Participating Retailers made within two (2) weeks of the first date of notification by e-mail from Sonos of the Promotion, or such longer period as may be extended by Sonos in its sole discretion (the “Promotion Period”).

So I would say that if you don't get an email from Sonos or a code from your retailer when you make the purchase then don't buy.

Here are the terms and conditions in full.

sonos-welcome.com/ie/…rms

Read them carefully.

Section 11 states that cashback is based on cost excluding vat. This is for purchases from retailers.
Section 10 (purchases direct from Sonos) doesn't make any mention of this.

There is nothing on the Sonos website sonos.com/en-…ome about this deal so I don't know where it has come from.

Either way, according to the original post, you need to wait until 12th March for this offer to kick in.
had confirmation from the official sonos account that the offer website is legit
Here's a few things I've found out in order for you to be eligible for this offer.

1. You must purchase your Sonos product/s from an "authorised retailer" (don't by from Sonos directly) - sonos.com/sto…=uk
2. "Qualifying Products purchased as part of another promotion are specifically excluded from this Promotion."
3. The maximum Cashback value is : USD 200, CAD 250, AUD 260, GBP 160, EUR 200, SEK 1,650, DKK 1,250, NOK 1,620, CHF 200.

I bought two Sonos One's from Sonos directly for £350. So in my situation I'm returning those and buying two from John Lewis so the total overall price for me will be £320.

Hope that's helpful, thanks for posting OP. Heat added!
But you do need a CODE from Sonos to even take part in this? Where do we get the code?
it appears that eligibility is based on having previously bought a sonos device (in the last 90 days) and not expanded your system yet and opted in for marketing emails. if you answered yes to both of these then you should have been sent a code - although having said that, i bought mine just before christmas and didnt get a code, so your mileage may vary!
A guy on chat said it was for purchases made in October last year and all codes were emailed on 22nd Feb. He did suggest any purchase and not 2 items, then again not sure the left hand knows what the right hand is doing?!

I did purchase a Playbar during that time, and activated it the day I received it but curiously my account wrongly says it was registered on Boxing Day - some 2 months later. So guess they'll query the registration date... very convenient. I have emailed customer service so will share what they say.
A shame that it’s only available for existing owners...
Frankly this is a bit of a sh1tshow. I bought a pair of Play 1s on the strength of this (had been putting it off for some time) and now I go claim it becomes obvious that YOU NEED THE CODE BEFORE YOU PURCHASE and nowhere does it say how you get a code. Presumably you have to be sent one by some retailer.

I'm voting this cold because the T&Cs are muddled and unclear and not everyone qualifies.

PLUS my Alexa app is not working, and half my Alexa devices appear 'offline'. Been like this for months and I can't find a fix. Not that this is the fault of Sonos...
I have just spoken to Sonos this was their response This specific promotion is only valid for customers who purchases their first product between October and December last year. If you did purchase you first product in that time frame and you did not receive an email I recommend contacting our customer service to discuss this, they will be able to provide further assistance :-)
spoke to Sonos and it appears they are sending the codes in phase by phase, i picked my first sonos back in Nov and as it stands they will be sending the codes today.
Heat from me now, I emailed support@sonos.com and they have responded with a code.
Anyone here who is not using their code? I would be greatful for one.

Did you have buy the speaker first or did you get the code before?
I bought a speaker on Black Friday in the eligible period.
And... playbar ordered.
Does any one have a code I could use? Many thanks
Peter Tyson (Authorised Dealer) has some great prices on Sonos products. I got a Black Playbase and a Black One for £818 (rrp £898) plus the maximum cashback of £160. White Playbase even cheaper!
