And as you would expect only the most expensive 27" imac is in stock.

Good spot. 12 months guarantee as well.

This deal was on a few weeks ago. I ordered an HP laptop from it (G62-25sa) and it arrived with a cracked screen.

I'm sure this could happen with any laptop purchase, new or refurb (since the screen should have been checked as part of the refurbishment) but be aware.

It may be that the reason for the damage was the product was badly packed - it was in a generic cardboard box that was too large for the item and although the laptop itself was secured, the power supply and cable were rattling around loose inside, which might have caused the damage. That will be unique to refurbs.

Good prices though. An i3 laptop with 4Gb RAM for under £280 is hard to beat - puts the Atom netbooks at £200+ into perspective, unless you really want the mobility of a netbook.

Nevermind that, as most of us plebs can't afford apple computers anyway, so for your 'bog standard' laptops it's a fair old saving...

We bought a netbook a few weeks back when the same offer was on. It was £40 cheaper than anywhere else and, despite some misgivings, was in absolutely perfect condition and hadn't ever been switched on before.

Can't guarantee the same with any other purchase, but we were very pleased with ours.

Bought a 4820T (RRP - £480, got it for £280!) via this promotion a few weeks back... arrived "as new" (dont ever think it'd been used) in a brown box. Most impressed!

I was close to buying a DSG refurbed laptop the other day, but comments like these made me back out.

Does anyone else have horror stories about these refurbed laptops, or are they usually in A1 condition??

Not a horror story from me, but I bought a Toshiba a few years ago that is still going strong and had no problems whatsoever. Only a couple of scuffs on the cover when I got it.

Hence, now I'm due to renew I went straight for a DSG refurb...

Their quality control is lacking but at least their returns procedure is free so if it doesn’t work out at least it hasn’t cost you anything.

Thanks.
Just got a HP - Mini 210-2006sa Refurbished Netbook - Pink for £143.99 - a couple of quid TCB making it £139.63.
Seems pretty good to me.
I wanted an iMac but no 27" screens available. The £1249 was available yesterday, so there must have been a limited amount. Gutted, as for £1000 after discount and £970 after TCB I would have had one.
Thanks OP.

This doesn't appear to be coming off at checkout - is there a discount code or something?

EDIT: You need to go slightly further than the first checkout screen, need to get to entering payment details and it comes off.

Cheers.

Yeah, in fairness, they are arranging free collection and although the exact model I ordered last time isn't in stock any more, they are replacing it with a comparable spec up to the same price. Or they refund you in full.

Can anyone tell me if this is a good deal Click Linky for £327 with discount applied at checkout

Just an update. I have managed to get a 27" imac for £1249 - £250 -£30 TCB = £970.
Not hte very latest model but for an i5 iMac with 27" monitor I am happy.
Thanks OP.

Picked up a MacBook Pro 2.4Ghz with 4G of ram for £639 delivered. Cheers OP

I ordered a refurb from Dixons. It blue screened on very first boot up - had to go into safe mode to recover windows. I then had random crashes, which I later traced to 1 of the Ram sticks. This was not a problem for me as I fix pc's and was upgrading the unit to 4GB anyway, but if you think they thoroughly check the refurb units - think again.

The only reason mine did not go back was it's price and it was in nearly new condition externally. My guess is it was a return that they could not find the fault with, cos it was random (the ram).

It did not work for me, the discount at checkout. Help!

A little disappointed.
My netbook turned up yesterday and on first start it said there is a fan not working properly, this machine will turn off in 15 seconds. I called today to order a replacement. They won't send a new one until the other has been returned (Orange replaced my phone handset and took the old one away. This would be a more satisfactory outcome.
Then today my 27" iMac turned up and it had a 6mm chip out of the corner of the screen. I called to get that sorted but there are none left, so I am stuck without any pc with a 20% discount as I have now missed them all!!!
I have asked if I can have the 20% applied to a similar machine, and they are going to look into it. But I don't hold out much hope.
If they don't sort this I will criticise them at every opportunity in the future. Hovever if they do sort it then I will become their best customer.
Very frustrated this evening!!!
