20% off car Aircon recharge at Kwik Fit (with code) - £47.96

Been looking for a deal for this as my car definitely needs it's aircon recharged.

Tried independents first but was getting quotes around £70 so have reluctantly gone with this deal which worked out at £47.96 after applying the code 20OFFAIRCONGSAVINGS0705

Kwik Fit have the correct machine for this which checks for leaks etc which eliminates the risk of wasting money having system recharged if it's all going to leak out again.

If system is leaking they wont recharge it and will refund.

Expires 13.5.2018

Having read the comments I should point out that anyone choosing the Halfords option (the only cheaper deal cited) should take note that the service from a Halfords (gas can) and a Halfords Auto Center (machine) are very different and priced accordingly. (If you can work out what the final price of the auto center option will be!?)

Air con gas is now averaging £320 plus vat per 12kg. Last year average was £60 per 12kg. You won't be seeing and Groupon deals this year and if you do, I bet your air con won't recharge!

It’s not producing the cold air a working unit would?
The irony of voting cold

Beats the £60 they were originally charging. Hot from me.

It will be hot in the car after these....play with it, even if it’s just a case of them connecting the automatic machine to it

Just because someone reduces their price from the ridiculous to the well not so doesn’t mean it’s a great deal when it can be done plenty of other places cheaper. And if you get it done at other times of the year, just plan you can get it much cheaper.

This - They somehow over-pressurised the AirCon on my old focus and blew a seal.
The final straw was when they broke the bonnet release cable on my old mondeo too, i wont go anywhere near the cowboys again.

Check the service requirements, some cars recomend 2 or 3 years between re-charges.

Not sure how they managed it - but they did,
The car was in to have its brake pads changed so i've no idea what they were doing under the bonnet.

They couldn't fix the cable so i had to take it to another garage and pay for it replacing.

For £40 Halfords will squirt the gas into your cars air con system out of a can. It's not comparable to having a machine test and empty the system then refill.

I checked my local garages and the price to have it done properly was £70. When did you last check and what exactly were they offering to do for that sort of money because I might just like to take advantage of the fantastic deal you've found. Please share?
wait a minute, i need to get my aircon recharged, i never knew this was a thing

Oh to have been at the other garage when they brought it in... comedy gold...but very annoying for you...
Love the irony of their guarantee, if it isn't leaking it doesn't need refilling! These services are just a stop gap before getting it fixed properly.
LOL oh how we do love Kwik *hit

there is one couple of mins from us. Not long after we moved into our new house my OH took car down just for a quick quote as noticed scoring on front disc. EML was on (know exactly what problem is) code 2196 as o2 sensor is actually faulty, just on a list of things to sort when have few mins. Anyhow brainiac technician there told her DPF was faulty and quoted over £2000 saying DPF bl8cked and cant regen and faulty and also code related to faulty EGR valve that.s related to DPF and would need replacing to sort out error code.

decided to pay them a visit, to clarify there bullshi*, booted up software on my tablet, connected to car and proceeded to show them detailed DPF data, soot amount, capacity, last regen. It was around 25% full at time so forced a regen manually, took for drive onto dual carriageway and came back to them at 1%.

No apologies at all, said they only go off what their systems say and prices correct at time and technic7ans are trained to follow manufacter data.

eventually I spent £76 replaced sensor and issue was sorted.

I wouldn't trust kwik fit to pump up the tyre on my little boys bike never mind even considering letting them near air con, I only got charged £50 at last service from an Audi dealer.

only good thing kwik fit have been good for is fitting full set of tyres I bought online 40% cheaper than there best price match even after paying fee for fitting and disposal
33778291-JjUS0.jpgHave a look on Groupon I got mine done last week for £25 from a local independent.

I'm another that wouldn't let Kwikshi7 near any of our cars after dreadful advice and rip-off service. However in their defence the brake piston needs to be pushed back to allow for the size of the new pads. To relieve the back pressure the reservoir cap is removed and to get to that you need to open the bonnet. If they were being absolutely OTT they might have even wanted to disconnect the battery to ensure no chance of problems when undoing sensors. Snapping a cable is not easy so I guess it had a problem already and they just happened to be the peeps it broke on.

Whilst I totally agree new posters be encouraged I cannot vote the deal hot if I believe the company is useless, for me they could offer this free and I would still reject it.
If I voted hot that would be falsely giving confidence to use this company to other members. Therefore to my mind sparing the wallets of members is a better result than sparing someone a bit of discomfort.
Kwit fit are horrendously unprofessional. Would never go to them again for anything....

Had no aircon a year or so back and they had some offer on when I went to get some tyres so asked what they did, reckoned it went on a machine, emptied your gas, refilled with air, pressure tested for 20m etc, (as they are LEGALLY obliged to do...) then refilled with proper gas if there was no problems. Picked up the car, aircon was working, got home, aircon not working, this was 1.5 miles... rang to ask them why they said no idea it was fine on the machine, they could investigate at £xxx per hour... I looked under the bonnet there were 2 holes in the condenser, old holes, ones I could stick a pen end right through.

That car never went on the machine, never tested, never checked, never even looked at, plug in fill up, charge £40... I should have reported them to whoever but couldn't be bothered...

Oh, and all 4 tyres had slows on them, one still did despite being taken off and reseated 3 effing times with new valves!
I just open my windows! I am too tight to use the AC as affects the fuel consumption.
Won't use them ever again for airconnn they only set machine to fill up 2/3 of what manufacturers recommend.
Completely conned from the Con artists.
sadly many companies don't get on to Hotukdeals because they lack credibility, are to small etc and yet there are certain companies who get on here with out issues funny that.

don't know whether it helps but I used to work in a garage and normally when changing brake pads you have to push the plungers back so you open the bonnet to access the brake filler cap and put a rag round it to catch the brake fluid if it overflows, then when you have put the new pads in you may have to top up the brake fluid, this is probably why they needed to go under the bonnet
